Steps:
- Combine almond paste, confectioners' sugar, and corn syrup in a large mixing bowl. You may need to work the mixture with your hands to ensure that it is well mixed. To prevent the mixture from drying as you work with it, rub hands with a light coating of vegetable shortening. Wrap tightly in plastic until ready for use.
MARZIPAN FOR SPRING GARDEN CAKE
Marzipan colored with paste food coloring is easily shaped and sculpted to make the decorative fruits and vegetables for Martha's Spring Garden Cake. Follow instructions for shaping individual fruits and vegetables here.

- In the bowl of a food processor, combine almond paste and sugar. Pulse until combined. Add the corn syrup, and pulse again until combined, about 15 times.
- Mixture should hold together when pressed. Transfer to a clean work surface; knead until smooth dough is formed. Wrap tightly in plastic wrap. Color as desired.
MARZIPAN FRUITS
This is a super easy recipe to make homemade marzipan and create little decorations for any cake, cupcake or Christmas cake.

Steps:
- Combine confectioners' sugar, almonds, egg whites, and brandy in a blender; blend until all ingredients are sticking together and marzipan is formed. Press into a ball, cover in plastic wrap, and chill in the refrigerator for at least 12 hours to get firm. Chill for an additional 6 to 12 hours if marzipan is not hard yet.
- Remove marzipan from fridge. Coat your hands slightly in confectioners' sugar and knead marzipan for about 1 minute. Separate marzipan into different portions, depending on how many and which fruits you'd like to make, and knead in food coloring to the different portions. To make the different fruits, start with a 1-inch ball of marzipan and give it the shape, details, and texture depending on the fruit you are shaping.

- In a large bowl, knead almond paste to soften. Mix in egg whites. Knead in confectioners' sugar 1 cup at a time. Add vanilla. Knead until marzipan feels like heavy pie dough.
- Wrap tightly in plastic, and store in refrigerator in a sealed container. To use after storage, let stand at room temperature until soft, then knead briefly.
