Enjoy breakfast with these microwaved raisin filled apples, that are topped with Nature Valley® Low Fat Fruit Granola - ready in just 10 minutes.

1 large crisp apple (such as Braeburn, Gala or Fuji)
1 tablespoon raisins or sweetened dried cranberries
1 tablespoon brown sugar
2 teaspoons margarine or butter, softened
1/2 cup Nature Valley™ Low Fat Fruit Granola

Steps:

  • Cut apple in half lengthwise. With spoon, remove and discard core, making at least a 1-inch indentation in each apple half. Place each half in small microwave-safe bowl.
  • Fill each apple half evenly with raisins and brown sugar; dot with margarine. Cover each with microwave-safe plastic wrap, venting one corner.
  • Microwave each apple half on HIGH for 2 1/2 to 3 minutes or until apple is tender. Top each with granola. If desired, serve with a little milk, cream or fruit-flavored yogurt.

This is an easy and fast baked apple recipe. Great for brunch or snack. Stuff the apples with any additional fruits that you wish -- cranberries stuffed into apples are especially delicious.

2 apples
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 teaspoons butter

Steps:

  • Core the apples, leaving the bottom intact.
  • In a bowl, mix the brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg. Spoon the sugar mixture into the apples and set a teaspoon (or more to your taste) of butter on top of each apple. Place the apples in a deep casserole dish and cover.
  • Microwave for 3 1/2 to 4 minutes or until tender. Let the apples sit for a couple minutes before serving.

  • Heat oven to 350°F. Spray 13x9-inch (3-quart) glass baking dish with cooking spray. Cut apples in half lengthwise; place in baking dish. Top each apple half with 1 teaspoon butter. Sprinkle each apple half with 1 tablespoon brown sugar.
  • In food processor or blender, place granola bar pieces and almonds. Cover; process until mixture looks like coarse crumbs. In medium microwavable bowl, microwave remaining 2 teaspoons butter uncovered on High 20 seconds or until melted. Add granola mixture, stirring until blended. Sprinkle 2 tablespoons granola mixture over each apple half.
  • Cover; bake 30 minutes. Uncover; bake 20 minutes longer or until apples are tender and topping is golden brown. Serve with ice cream or whipped cream.
