- Whisk the jelly, vinegar, and 1 tablespoon water in a medium bowl until smooth. Fold in the mint. The sauce can be refrigerated in an airtight container up to 6 hours.

Steps:
- Place the apples along with the remaining ingredients *EXCEPT* for the honey and rosewater into a crock pot or large stock pot.
- CROCK POT: cook on LOW for 3-4 hours or until apples are soft enough to mash.
- STOVE TOP: Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 30-45 minutes or until apples are soft enough to mash.
- Remove cinnamon stick. Use a potato masher and strainer to mash the apples.
- Stir in 1 teaspoon rosewater. Taste. Add more rosewater if you think it needs it. If applesauce is not sweet enough to your liking, add the optional honey. Serve warm or chilled.
- Freezes well.

My late father only knew how to cook two dishes and this was one. The type of apples you use will determine how mushy your apple sauce turns out. Cooking apples will turn into the texture of commercial applesauce while others will keep their shape even after the cooking. Either way it's delicious. The recipe can easily be doubled (or tripled...or quadrupled) to serve a crowd.

- Put the apples and water in a saucepan.
- Cover and bring to the boil.
- Boil over low heat, stirring occasionally, 20 minutes.
- Stir in sugar and cook until it dissolves.
- Add cinnamon or nutmeg.
- Serve warm or cold.

- In a small saucepan, bring water and sugar to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from the heat; stir in the mint, lemon juice, orange juice and zest. Cover and let stand for 1 hour., Strain and discard mint and orange peel. Stir in cold water; serve over ice. Garnish with lemon slices and additional mint if desired.

HINT OF MINT FRUIT SALAD
Steps:
- In a large saucepan, bring sugar and water to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 4 minutes. Remove from the heat. Add mint; cover and steep for 20 minutes. Strain and discard mint. Transfer syrup to a small bowl; refrigerate until chilled. , Just before serving, combine the apples, pears, pineapple, strawberries and blueberries in a large bowl. Stir mayonnaise into mint syrup until blended; pour over fruit and toss to coat.
