MOM'S SIZZLIN' STEAK MARINADE RECIPE

Our mom's steak marinade is the BEST! It's been in our family forever. Mix a few simple ingredients together for the marinade; this steak is so moist and flavorful.

1½ cups vegetable oil
¼ cup Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon ground pepper
½ cup apple cider vinegar
¾ cup soy sauce
2 Tablespoons dry ground mustard
⅓ cup lemon juice
6 small steaks

Steps:

  • Mix together vegetable oil, Worcestershire sauce, pepper, apple cider vinegar, soy sauce, dry mustard, and lemon juice in a Ziploc bag or an airtight container (like tupperware or rubbermaid).
  • Add 3 pounds of steak (about 6) to the marinade (any cut of steak will work).
  • Store in fridge to marinate for about 8 hours. Flip over the steaks halfway through marinating.
  • Grill over medium-high heat to your liking

This is a wonderful vinaigrette that my mother invented. It's wonderful as a dressing, but we also use it for chicken marinade and steamed veggies.

¾ cup extra virgin olive oil
¾ cup balsamic vinegar
1 clove garlic, crushed or to taste
½ teaspoon dried oregano
2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
1 pinch salt
1 pinch freshly ground black pepper

Steps:

  • Combine the olive oil, vinegar, garlic, oregano, mustard, salt and pepper in a jar with a tight fitting lid. Shake well before serving. Store in the refrigerator.

Jeanne's Steak Fajitas With Special Marinade image

This recipe was inspired by Alton Browns Fajita Marinade. If skirt steak is not available, any lean beef steak not more than 1/2 inch thick will do. This smells amazing on the grill.

1/2 cup vegetable oil
1/3 cup soy sauce
4 green onions or 1/2 medium onion
2 large garlic cloves
1/4 cup lime juice
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1/2 teaspoon cumin
2 lbs skirt steaks

Steps:

  • Place all ingredients, except meat, in blender.
  • Blend for 1 minute.
  • Place meat in large plastic bag and pour marinade over all.
  • Close top securely and make sure all meat is covered with marinade.
  • Place in refrigerator for at least one hour.
  • Grill on high to desired doneness, or 5-10 minutes each side.
  • remove from grill and cover with aluminum foil to rest for at least 30 minutes.
  • Slice thinly and mix with any juices from resting plate.
  • Serve with grilled or sauted onions and bell peppers, salsa, sour cream and flour tortillas.

We usually use with chicken. My neices ask for this by name "Momma's Special Chicken". (One of them at the age of 3 ate a whole chicken!) Marinate overnight and put it on the GRILL !

  • Depending on how much meat I have I usually have to either double or triple this recipe The longer your meat marinates the better it tastes.
  • This recipe was originally for salmon, but I think it can be used universally.
  • I've also used this same recipe for steak and chicken.
  • It is wonderful.
