I have made dog food ever since my dogs were puppies - 4 years now! They are very healthy and have never had any problems. You can also add it to their kibble. They love it! My dogs are large breed so they get 2 cups in the a.m. and p.m.

- Place the water, ground turkey, rice, and rosemary into a large Dutch oven. Stir until the ground turkey is broken up and evenly distributed throughout the mixture; bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce heat to low and simmer for 20 minutes. Add the frozen vegetables, and cook for an additional 5 minutes. Remove from heat and cool. Refrigerate until using.

HOMEMADE GRAIN-FREE DOG FOOD
My dog is getting older and his health has become more of a priority. I worry about how many nutrients kibble may lose through the cooking process. So, I developed this homemade dog food recipe to include all of the vitamins, minerals, and essential fatty acids that my dog needs. It took me a bit of research to figure out what foods in what proportions to use. The protein ingredients include liver and poultry (dark meat poultry is best), sunflower oil for linoleic acid, and 10 other essential amino acids that dogs must get in their diet.

Steps:
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
- Place carrots, apples, and water into a pot. Bring to a boil; cover, reduce heat to low, and simmer until soft, 10 to 15 minutes.
- Crack eggs and whisk together in a bowl; place eggshells onto a baking sheet.
- Bake eggshells in the preheated oven until dry, 5 to 7 minutes.
- Remove eggshells from the oven and pulverize using a mortar and pestle or a coffee grinder.
- Place ground chicken, chicken livers, eggs, ground eggshells, and sunflower oil into a large skillet. Heat over medium heat, mixing occasionally, until ground chicken is browned and crumbly and livers are no longer pink, 5 to 7 minutes.
- Place spinach on top of meat mixture in the skillet and cover with a lid to steam until soft, about 5 minutes.
- Mash softened carrots and apples using a potato masher and add to meat mixture; mix together.

- Preheat Oven To 350 degrees.
- In a large mixing bowl combine all dry ingredients.
- In a small bowl combine egg and corn oil.
- Stir water into dry ingredients, then add egg mixture, mixing well. The batter will be thin.
- Divide the batter between baking sheets spreading evening 1/2" thick, as though for pizza. Bake 45 minutes.
- Cool kibble, then break into small pieces. Store in covered container in refrigerator or divide into individual servings and place in freezer bags and freeze.

VEGETARIAN MULTI-GRAIN DOG FOOD
My dog was pretty apathetic towards food when I bought the store brand. Now he goes crazy at meal time, he loves this stuff so much. It's high in protein and grains, but you don't have to worry about feeding your pet the gross leftover parts of chickens. The feeds my small Min Pin for about two weeks. I recommend refrigeration because it will form mold if left out for too long.

MULTI-GRAIN PANCAKES
This is another recipe from my dear friend, Kelly. Her family, 2 kids included, love this recipe. It is the only pancakes she makes. The first half of the recipe makes a large amount of mix to store in the refrigerator. The directions follow to make a batch of about 8-10 pancakes. Kelly says that the pancakes come out fine using most any kind of milk. *****UPDATE: My family loves them! 2yr, 6yr, 10yr and 43yr old ate them up. Not the "healthy" wheat taste that scares my kids away. I used yellow corn meal, will use white next time to make them look even more like the usual pancakes. Thanks Kelly.

- Wash and trim ends of carrots. Peeling is unnecessary if using organic ones. Cut into small enough pieces to chop in a food processor and set aside. Chop apples, green beans, blueberries, and spinach in the food processor and set aside.
- Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil and 1 tablespoon coconut oil in a large (at least 10-quart) stockpot and saute carrots until softened, about 5 minutes. Add apples, green beans, blueberries, and spinach and cook over low heat, stirring occasionally, until cooked through, 5 to 10 minutes.
- Meanwhile, heat 1 tablespoon olive oil and 1 tablespoon coconut oil a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook and stir ground beef in the hot skillet until browned and crumbly, 5 to 7 minutes. Add to stockpot. Add pumpkin puree, remaining olive oil and coconut oil and mix everything until well combined. Cover and allow to cool.
- Refrigerate for 8 hours, or overnight. Divide desired portions into resealable plastic bags, removing as much air as possible, and freeze until needed.
