Steps:
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
- In a large bowl (or the bowl of a stand mixer) stir together water, yeast, and honey (or sugar). Rest for 10 minutes to let the yeast activate. It should rise and foam.
- Stir in 2 cups flour, olive oil, and salt.
- Gradually mix in more flour (1 1/2-2 cups) until you have a soft, shaggy dough.
- With flour-dusted hands, transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for 2-3 minutes.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and allow to rise for 10 minutes.
- Divide dough into two equal parts. Divide each half into two equal parts again. Continue to do this until you have 16 equal-sized pieces of dough.
- Roll each into a log about 10 inches long and place 2-inches apart on a greased baking sheet.
- Bake for 5 minutes. Meanwhile, stir together melted butter and garlic powder.
- After 5 minutes, brush with half of the garlic butter and return to oven for 6-8 minutes until golden. (They will continue to brown a little more after you pull them out of the oven so don't over-bake them).
- Brush with remaining garlic butter and serve.

Steps:
- Combine all ingredients (except for topping ingredients) in the bowl of a stand mixer and mix using the dough hook attachment until combined on low.
- Continue mixing 5-10 minutes, adding just a little more flour if needed.
- Dough will be soft and slightly sticky; it may not completely pull away from side of bowl. However, it should feel smooth and elastic when it's done kneading.
- Turn dough out onto a floured surface and knead two or three times, forming a ball.
- Cover with a kitchen towel and let rise one to one and a half hours, until nearly double in size. (If you live in a very dry area you may want to put the dough into a large greased bowl and cover it with plastic wrap to ensure it doesn't dry out.)
- On a floured surface, roll dough into a 12x16 inch rectangle. Use pizza cutter to slice into 16 strips.
- Pinched the long sides of each piece together to form a breadstick shape.
- Place sticks pinched side down on a baking sheet that's been lightly greased or lined with parchment paper. Cover with a towel, and let rise about 30 minutes.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 15-18 minutes until golden brown. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with seasonings.

Steps:
- Whisk together warm water, sugar, salt, and 3 tablespoons of the melted butter in the bowl of a standing mixer.

- Transfer the dough ball to a large bowl coated in olive oil. Cover with plastic wrap and set aside in a warm, draft-free place.
- Allow the dough to rest and double in size - 60-90 minutes.
- Punch down the dough and divide into twelve equally sized pieces (about 2 oz. each)
- Roll each piece of dough into a rope about the width of your thumb.
- Place formed breadsticks on parchment lined baking sheets, 2-3 inches apart.
- Cover the breadsticks again and allow to rise a second time - about one hour more.
- Preheat oven to 400°F. Bake breadsticks for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.

Steps:
- 1. Prepare two baking sheets by lining them with parchment.
- 2. Place 1/4 cup warm water in the bowl of an electric mixer. Mix in yeast and sugar and allow to stand for 5 minutes until foamy.
- 3. Stir in the flour, 2 tablespoons room temp. butter, 1 1/2 teaspoons salt, and 1 cup warm water. With the paddle attachment, mix on medium until the dough comes together, adding additional water 1-2 tablespoons at a time.
- 4. Switch from the paddle attachment to the dough hook and mix for 4 minutes until dough is smooth.
- 5. Place the dough on a lightly floured surface and cut into 16 pieces. I found it easiest to do this by separating the dough in half, halving it again, and again, etc. until I had 16 pieces. They were more even that way.
- 6. Roll them into logs about 7 inches long. Place them on the prepared baking sheets about 2 inches apart and cover with a towel.
- 7. Allow them to rise for 45-60 minutes.
- 8. In a small bowl, whisk together the fine sea salt, garlic powder, and oregano.
- 9. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
- 10. Brush each breadstick with half of the melted butter and sprinkle half of the seasoning mixture on the breadsticks.
- 11. Bake for 15 minutes.
- 12. Brush each breadstick again with melted butter and sprinkle with remaining seasoning. Serve warm.

- Let it proof for 10 minutes, and get nice and foamy. Then, mix in the 2 tsp of salt, 2 tbsp of softened butter, and about 3 cups of the flour. Keep adding the remaining flour until you get a nice, soft dough that pulls away from the side of the bowl and isn't too sticky.
- If you have a warm kitchen, you can cover the bowl with a damp towel and leave it on the counter.
- My kitchen is far too cold, so I warm my oven (just until it reaches 170°F) and turn it off. Then, I set a dish of hot water on the lower rack, and the bowl with the dough on the top rack. This keeps everything nice, warm, and moist. (It's important to remember to turn the oven off!)

- Combine warm water, sugar, oil, and yeast in a large bowl of a mixer or a food processor. Add 4 1/2 cups of flour and salt and process until the dough forms a nice uniform ball. Place dough in a bowl that has been sprayed with nonstick spray.
- Cover the bowl with a towel and allow to rise in a warm place. When the dough has doubled in size (this should take about an hour) place dough on a well-floured board and roll out the dough. Roll out dough into a large rectangle. Cut in half horizontally, and then cut vertical strips of dough about 1 1/2 inches thick.
- Roll the strips of dough into logs. Place dough logs on a greased baking sheet, and allow them to rise until they have doubled in size (this should take about 45 minutes). You should get between 20 and 24 breadsticks from this recipe. Melt butter, and stir in Parmesan cheese garlic powder, and oregano.
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Just before baking the breadsticks, brush them with the melted butter mixture. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown. Brush any leftover butter topping on these just before serving.

From tasteofhome.com
- Preheat and prepare. Preheat oven to 400°F and line a 9×13-inch baking sheet with parchment paper. Set aside.
- Melt butter and warm milk. In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Then, stir in the milk and warm to 105-112°F. Alternatively, you may also melt and warm the milk in the microwave for 30-60 seconds at 50% power.
- Combine with yeast and sugar. Next, add the yeast and sugar to the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with a dough hook. Slowly add the warmed milk to the yeast and sugar and gently stir to combine.
- Add egg and dry ingredients. Next, with your stand mixer on its lowest speed, stir in the egg and salt before adding in 2-1/2 cups (300g) of flour.
- Knead. Increase your mixer to its second speed and knead the dough for 3-4 minutes. Alternately, you may knead by hand for 6-8 minutes on a lightly oiled surface.
- Shape. With lightly floured hands, divide the dough into 12 equal pieces, approximately 65 grams each. Then shape dough into 12 breadsticks, and place them 1 inch apart on the prepared baking sheet(s).
- Proof. Cover loosely with a tea towel or plastic wrap, and let the dough proof for 10-15 minutes in a warm place. The breadsticks should rise and puff slightly during this period.
- Bake. Uncover the breadsticks and transfer to the preheated oven. Bake for about 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Make the garlic butter. While the breadsticks are baking, prepare the garlic butter by melting the butter on your stovetop or in the microwave. Remove from heat and then stir in the salt and garlic powder.
- Baste. Remove the breadsticks from the oven when golden, and immediately baste with the melted garlic butter. Serve warm. Inspired by: Chicken & Gnocchi Soup.
