Oven Baked Beef Tacos are an easy weeknight meal with none of the mess you can make ahead with ground beef, cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomatoes and sour cream.

1 pound ground beef
3 tablespoons taco seasoning (or 1 packet)
1/2 cup water
10 taco shells
1 cup cheddar cheese (shredded)
1 cup shredded lettuce
1 vine tomato (diced)
1 cup sour cream

Steps:

  • Preheat your oven to 400 degrees.
  • Add your ground beef to a large skillet on medium high heat and cook until no longer pink, breaking it apart (about 5-6 minutes).
  • Whisk taco seasoning and water together and add to your pan, letting the liquid cook until mostly reduced, another 2-3 minutes.
  • Place the taco shells into a baking dish standing them up against each other.
  • Spoon the beef into the taco shells then add the cheddar cheese and bake for 10 minutes.
  • Remove from the oven and top with lettuce, tomato and sour cream before serving.

6 ounces tomato sauce
20 1/2 ounces refried beans
shredded cheddar cheese
12 small flour tortillas
diced tomato
diced onion
sour cream
salsa
shredded lettuce

Steps:

  • Brown ground beef and drain.
  • Add taco seasoning, refried beans and tomato sauce.
  • Heat until blended.
  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  • Spray a glass 9x13 pan with oil.
  • Spoon taco filling into taco shells and stack them side by side in pan.
  • When shells are filled, top each with shredded cheese.
  • Bake for approximately 15 minutes, watching so they do not brown too much.
  • Top with remaining ingredients, if desired.

1 envelope taco seasoning
2 cans (10 ounces each) diced tomatoes and green chiles, divided
1 can (16 ounces) refried beans
2 cups shredded Mexican cheese blend, divided
1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
1 teaspoon hot pepper sauce, optional
12 taco shells
Chopped green onions

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 425°. In a large skillet, cook beef over medium heat 6-8 minutes or until no longer pink, breaking into crumbles; drain. Stir in taco seasoning and 1 can of undrained tomatoes; heat through., Meanwhile, in a bowl, mix beans, 1/2 cup cheese, cilantro, remaining can of undrained tomatoes and, if desired, pepper sauce. Spread onto bottom of a greased 13x9-in. baking dish., Stand taco shells upright over bean mixture. Fill each with 1 tablespoon cheese and about 1/3 cup beef mixture. I found this recipe on Pinterest and tried it with my family tonight. They loved it, but I must warn you. I don't use canned refried beans, I use http://www.food.com/recipe/simple-and-easy-homemade-refried-beans-460636. In addition, I didn't mix them in because only 1/2 of my family likes them. I layered them into 1/2 the tacos and because I put them on the bottom, those shells ended up a bit soggy. If you choose to separate them like me, I suggest you layer them on top of the meat! Optional Condiments- Lettuce (shredded) Tomato (diced) Salsa Guacamole Sour Cream Olives, sliced

1 small onion, diced
4 ounces green chilies, diced
1 1/2 tablespoons taco seasoning (below)

18 -20 taco shells, hard
1 tablespoon chili powder

  • In a large skillet brown ground beef and onion over medium-high heat. Drain off any excess liquid. Return to pan, add chilies, refried beans, tomato sauce, and taco seasoning. Mix well and cook for a few minutes if mixture seems runny.
  • Spoon the taco meat mixture into the taco shells and place into a 9 x 13 inch baking dish, standing up. Sprinkle cheese over the top of the taco meat in each shell. Place into the oven and bake at 400 degrees for 10-12 minutes or until the cheese has melted and the tacos are heated through.
  • Remove from the oven and top with any optional condiments for serving.

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  • In a large skillet brown you hamburger along with the chopped onion and garlic. Cook until meat is brown, drain grease well.
