Grease and flour your pans in one step with this Homemade Cake Release! Learn how to prepare cake pans so that your cakes come out perfect every time.

1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1/2 cup shortening

Steps:

  • Place all ingredients into a bowl and whisk until smooth.
  • Brush onto pans before lining with parchment.
  • Store in an airtight container for up to 3 months at room temperature or 6 months in the fridge.

1 cup (125g) all-purpose flour
1 cup (205g) shortening
1 cup (218g) oil

Steps:

  • Place all ingredients in medium bowl and whisk well by hand. The mixture will be smooth and creamy.
  • Store in airtight container in the refrigerator.
  • When ready to use:
  • Dip a pastry brush into the mixture and spread over bottom and sides of cake pan.
