THE PIONEER WOMAN- BLACKBERRY COBBLER #1

The Pioneer Woman- Blackberry Cobbler #1 image

This came from www.thepioneerwoman.com "Ree" is an awesome person that is very talented. If only I could photograph the way she does. She makes ALL of her recipes look so yummy. I think some of her pics make some of us "foodies" drool. In the past I have substituted the blackberries for Strawberries (YUM!) and peach because those were the fruits I had on hand. Either way it was good and gone! I'm never not satisfied after trying one of her recipes. And they all make the house smell so good!

Provided by ChrissyVas

Categories     Dessert

Time 1h15m

Yield 6 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 5

1 cup milk
1/2 cup butter
1 1/4 cups sugar
1 cup self-rising flour
2 cups blackberries (frozen or fresh or your favorite fruit)

Steps:

  • Melt butter in a microwaveable dish. (Since Zaar is so picky it wouldn't let me put or 1 stick of butter) Pour 1 cup of sugar and flour into a mixing bowl, whisking in milk. Mix well. Then, pour in melted butter and whisk it all well together. Butter a baking dish OR spray with either Bakers Joy or a non stick spray like Pam.
  • Now rinse and pat dry the blackberries, (in the ingredients section the amount should have said 2 generous cups of fruit, silly Zaar.). (Or your favorite fruit) Pour the batter into the buttered baking dish. Sprinkle blackberries over the top of the batter; distributing evenly. Sprinkle 1/4 cup (depending on how wid your pan is, you can get away with less) sugar over the top.
  • Bake in the oven at 350 degrees for 1 hour, or until golden brown and bubbly. If you desire, sprinkle an additional teaspoon of sugar over the cobbler 10 minutes before it's done.
  • Let cool slightly and serve warm. Or dig in with a fork if you can't wait, but make sure you have some vanilla ice cream and whip cream to put this cobbler over the edge! (Thn hit the gym in the morning cause this cobbler was worth every guilty minute of it).

CHEZ PANISSE'S BLUEBERRY COBBLER

Chez Panisse's Blueberry Cobbler image

This cobbler, which comes from the kitchens of Chez Panisse, prizes the berries above all, using only 1/3 cup of sugar. The dough rounds for the top are placed so they don't cover all the berries, and the juice from the berries bubbles up around the dough.

Provided by Molly O'Neill

Categories     dessert

Time 1h15m

Yield 4 to 6 servings

Number Of Ingredients 9

4 1/2 cups fresh blueberries
1/3 cup sugar
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1 1/2 tablespoons sugar
2 1/4 teaspoons baking powder
6 tablespoons cold unsalted butter, cut into 1/2-inch pieces
3/4 cup heavy cream, plus additional for serving, if desired

Steps:

  • Heat the oven to 375 degrees. To prepare the berries, place in a bowl and toss with the sugar and flour. Set aside.
  • To make the dough, mix the flour, salt, sugar and baking powder in a bowl. Cut in the butter until mixture resembles coarse meal. Add the cream and mix lightly, just until the dry ingredients are moistened.
  • Put the blueberries in a 1 1/2-quart gratin or baking dish. Make patties out of the dough, 2 to 2 1/2 inches in diameter and 1/2-inch thick. Arrange them over the top of the berries. Bake until the topping is brown and the juices bubble thickly around it, about 35 to 40 minutes.
  • Let cool slightly. Serve warm, with cream to pour on top, if desired.

AMY & REE: PATSY'S BLACKBERRY COBBLER — AMY PENCE BROWN
2010-11-11 November 11, 2010. I made PW's blackberry cobbler last week to take over to a friend's house. I was feeling bad that the dinner portion I brought was take-out Papa Murphy's pizzas, and I'm on a Pioneer Woman roll here lately. The deadline looms in my future to finish out my new year's resolution to make every recipe in the book.

LOUIS FOWLER VS. THE PIONEER WOMAN: PATSY’S BLACKBERRY COBBLER
2021-11-30 After enjoying the turkey cutlets, grand stuffing and so on, Patsy’s Blackberry Cobbler was unleased upon my brother’s family. BLACKBERRY COBBLER - PATSY TERRELL

COOK A BOOK: PATSY'S BLACKBERRY COBBLER
Patsy's Blackberry Cobbler This was like a big muffin. It's good, but not cobbler-like. The amount of sugar in it will downright make you giggle.
