I saw Paula Deen make this recipe on her Food Network program. I was looking for a really creamy macaroni and cheese recipe, and this is it! I changed it a bit by omitting the eggs (the original recipe calls for three) and boiling the macaroni for six minutes instead of seven, so it doesn't get mushy while cooking in the Crockpot. I also shortened the cooking time from three to two and a half hours. Perfection!

2 cups uncooked elbow macaroni
4 tablespoons butter
2 1/2 cups grated sharp cheddar cheese
3 eggs (I omitted the eggs)
1/2 cup sour cream
1 (10 3/4 ounce) can condensed cheddar cheese soup
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup whole milk
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Steps:

  • Boil the macaroni in water for six minutes. Drain.
  • In a medium saucepan, mix butter and cheese. Stir until the cheese melts.
  • In slow cooker, combine cheese mixture and add the eggs (I omitted the eggs), sour cream, soup, salt, milk, mustard and pepper. Add the drained macaroni and stir again.
  • Cook on low for 2 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally.

8 ounces elbow macaroni, cooked
One 12-ounce can evaporated milk
1 1/2 cups whole milk
1/4 cup (1/2 stick ) of butter, melted
1 teaspoon salt
Dash of pepper
2 large eggs, beaten
Two 10-ounce bricks sharp Cheddar cheese, grated (about 5 cups)
Dash of paprika

Steps:

  • In a large 4-quart slow cooker sprayed with cooking spray, mix the macaroni, evaporated milk, milk, butter, salt, pepper, eggs and all but 1/2 cup of the grated cheese. Sprinkle the reserved cheese over the top of the mixture and then sprinkle with paprika. Cover and cook on low heat for 3 hours and 15 minutes. Turn off the slow cooker, stir the mixture and serve hot.

2 1/2 cups (about 10 oz) grated sharp cheddar cheese
2 cups uncooked (an 8 oz box isn't quite 2 cups) elbow macaroni
1/2 teaspoon pepper

This extra creamy crock pot mac and cheese is easy to make & a universal crowd-pleaser! It takes minutes to prepare and the crock pot does the rest!

2 cups uncooked macaroni noodles (equal to 1/2 lb.)
1 teaspoon onion powder
½ teaspoon dry mustard powder
½ teaspoon pepper
3 cups cheddar cheese
1 cup gruyere cheese (or additional cup cheddar)
10.5 oz. cream of chicken soup
½ cup sour cream
½ cup mayonnaise
1 cup whole milk (optional)

Steps:

  • Boil the macaroni noodles for 5 minutes, you don't want them entirely cooked through as they'll do more cooking in the slow cooker.
  • Combine all ingredients except the milk in the slow cooker. Cook on high for 2 hours or low for 3, stirring once or twice and keeping an eye on the consistency of the pasta.
  • Add up to a cup of warm milk if desired for a creamier consistency.
  • Serve warm and enjoy!

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9-by-13-inch baking dish; set aside. In saucepan, cook macaroni according to package directions; drain. Return macaroni to saucepan.
  • While the macaroni is hot, add the cheeses to the pan; stir well. Spread the macaroni mixture in the prepared baking dish. In a bowl, whisk together the milk, sour cream, eggs, butter, hot sauce, and salt. Pour the milk mixture over the macaroni.
  • Bake for 35 to 40 minutes or until golden brown and bubbling. Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.
