HOMEMADE DOG EAR CLEANER



Homemade Dog Ear Cleaner image

A simple mixture with excellent results.

Number Of Ingredients 5

Small jar
2 tsp water
2 tsp 3% hydrogen peroxide
Spoon
Syringe or eye dropper

Steps:

  • Add the ingredients to the jar and stir to mix.
  • Suck up the liquid into the eyedropper or syringe.
  • Have a helper hold the dog as still as possible.
  • Squirt the mixture into the dog's ear.
  • Massage the skin below the ear.
  • Repeat with the other ear.

1/3 cup rubbing alcohol
1/3 cup distilled vinegar
1/3 cup water

Steps:

  • mix ingredients in equal parts into a squirt bottle. I like to use a new hair color bottle since it has a very long tip and narrow spout for squirting into dogs long ear canal. The vinegar kills yeast and bacteria and acidifies the ear canal. The alcohol helps to dry the ear so there isnt excess solution lingering.
  • Squirt the solution into dogs ear and hold your dogs head for a couple mins to allow the solution to work.
  • Use cotton balls to absorb as much of the solution as feasible before allowing dog to shake its head.
