Number Of Ingredients 11

1 cup melted butter
1 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 cups large flake oats
1 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup peanut butter I used chunky
one 300 millilitre can sweetened condensed milk
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup Reese's pieces OR minis are perfect
1 cup chopped Reese's PB cups

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.Line a 9x13 pan with parchment paper.tir together the melted butter, sugar, soda, oatmeal, flour & salt until it's crumbly.Set aside approximately 1 1/4 cups. of the mixture.
  • Press the remainder of the mixture into the prepared pan, making sure you press firmly. Bake the crust for 10 minutes then remove from the oven.
  • Stir together the peanut butter and sweetened condensed milk.
  • Pour and spread the peanut butter filling over the baked crust, making sure to not pull up the crust while you do so.
  • Spreading in one direction only solves this problem. Combine the reserved crumbs and Reese's Pieces together and spread on top of the condensed milk mixture.
  • Bake at 350 for another 15 minutes.
  • Remove from the oven and sprinkle the chocolate chips evenly over the top. Return to oven to bake for another 5-10 minutes or until topping is light golden brown and the chips are melting.
  • Cool, slice and serve.

PEANUT BUTTER OATMEAL DREAM BARS RECIPE

Peanut Butter Oatmeal Dream Bars Recipe image

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 cup melted margarine
1 cup brown sugar
1 tsp baking soda
2 1/4 cups quick cooking oatmeal
1 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp salt
1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1 cup milk chocolate chips

Steps:

  • Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Mix together margarine, sugar, soda, oatmeal, flour and salt. Set aside about one cup of mixture and press the rest into a greased 9x13 pan.
  • Bake for 10 minutes.
  • Mix together peanut butter and sweetened condensed milk and spread over baked crust. (I actually microwaved this for 30 seconds so it made it easy to pour/spread).
  • Then evenly sprinkle rest of original mixture over that.
  • Bake for another 12-15 minutes.
  • Sprinkle chocolate chips and bake another 5 minutes. (I happened to actually have milk chocolate chips on hand because I sent the kids to the store earlier for chocolate chips, not mentioning that I wanted semi-sweet.)
  • Since I didn't have the peanut butter cups to add like the other recipe called for, I wish I would've added more chocolate chips, maybe even some semi-sweet ones, because I think it could've used a tad more chocolate. Or maybe that's just me. :)

Peanut Butter & Oatmeal Dream Bars - Five Stars Recipe - (4.5/5) image

Provided by á-25138

Number Of Ingredients 10

1 cup butter, melted
1 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 1/4 cups quick cooking oatmeal (not instant)
1 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup peanut butter (I used creamy)
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1 King size Reese's Peanut Butter Cup candy bars, roughly chopped
1 cup milk chocolate chips

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a 9×13-inch pan with tin foil and spray with Pam. In a medium mixing bowl, mix the melted butter, sugar, soda, oatmeal, flour & salt until it becomes a crumbly texture and set aside a little more than 1 cups worth of the crust mixture. Press the remaining crust into your prepared pan. Bake for 10 minutes. While the crust is cooking, in a small bowl, stir the peanut butter and sweetened condensed milk together. Once the crust has baked, pour and spread peanut butter filling over the baked crust in an even layer. Be careful not to pull up the warm crust while spreading your mixture. Evenly sprinkle the reserved crumbs on top of the peanut butter and sweetened condensed milk mix. Bake at 350°F for about 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, remove from oven and sprinkle the chopped candy bars and chocolate chips on top. Return to the oven and bake for another 5 to 10 minutes or until topping is light golden brown and the chocolate chips and bars are melting. Allow to cool before cutting and serving. Enjoy!
