Steps:
- Heat oven to 350°F (325°F for dark or nonstick pan). In 13x9-inch pan, melt butter in oven. Sprinkle brown sugar evenly over butter. Arrange pineapple slices on brown sugar. Place cherry in center of each pineapple slice, and arrange remaining cherries around slices; press gently into brown sugar.
- Add enough water to reserved pineapple juice to measure 1 cup. Make cake batter as directed on box, substituting pineapple juice mixture for the water. Pour batter over pineapple and cherries.
- Bake 42 to 48 minutes (44 to 53 minutes for dark or nonstick pan) or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Immediately run knife around side of pan to loosen cake. Place heatproof serving plate upside down onto pan; turn plate and pan over. Leave pan over cake 5 minutes so brown sugar topping can drizzle over cake; remove pan. Cool 30 minutes. Serve warm or cool. Store covered in refrigerator.

- In a microwave, melt 1/2 cup butter; stir in brown sugar. Spread evenly onto bottom of a greased 5-qt. slow cooker. Sprinkle with cherries and pecans; top with pineapple. Sprinkle evenly with dry cake mix. Melt remaining butter; drizzle over top., Cook, covered, on high until fruit mixture is bubbly, about 2 hours. (To avoid scorching, rotate slow-cooker insert a half turn midway through cooking, lifting carefully with oven mitts.), Turn off slow cooker; let stand, uncovered, 30 minutes before serving. If desired, serve with ice cream.

Steps:
- Heat oven to 350°F. Add melted butter to 12-inch cast iron or ovenproof skillet. Sprinkle brown sugar evenly over butter. Arrange 8 pineapple slices in bottom of skillet. Cut remaining slices in half; arrange around inside edge of skillet. Place 1 cherry in center of each whole and half pineapple slice.
- In large bowl, beat cake mix, pineapple juice, oil and eggs with electric mixer on low speed until moistened; beat 2 minutes on high speed. Pour into skillet over fruit.
- Bake 40 to 45 minutes or until cake is golden brown and springs back when touched lightly in center.
- Cool cake in skillet 5 to 10 minutes. Run knife around edge of cake to loosen. Place heatproof plate upside down over skillet; turn plate and skillet over. Remove skillet. Serve cake warm.

- Heat oven to 180C/160C fan/gas 4.
- For the topping, beat 50g softened butter and 50g light soft brown sugar together until creamy. Spread over the base and a quarter of the way up the sides of a 20cm round cake tin. Arrange 7 pineapple rings on top (reserving the syrup for later), then place 7 glacé cherries in the centres of the rings.
- Place 100g softened butter, 100g golden caster sugar, 100g self-raising flour, 1 tsp baking powder, 1 tsp vanilla extract and 2 eggs in a bowl along with 2 tbsp of the reserved pineapple syrup. Using an electric whisk, beat to a soft consistency.
- Spoon into the tin on top of the pineapple and smooth it out so it's level. Bake for 35 mins. Leave to stand for 5 mins, then turn out onto a plate. Serve warm with a scoop of ice cream.

- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease 24 jumbo muffin cups.
- Drain pineapple rings and pour juice into a 2-cup liquid measure. Add water, if needed, to reach 2 cups. Set aside.
- Mix brown sugar and butter in a small bowl with a fork until completely combined. Divide mixture evenly between the prepared muffin cups. Place one pineapple ring in each cup and place a cherry in the center.
- Combine cake mix, reserved pineapple juice-water mixture, oil, and eggs in a large mixing bowl. Mix with an electric mixer on medium speed for 2 minutes. Fill each muffin up 2/3 full with batter.
- Bake in the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted in the centers comes out clean, 20 to 24 minutes.
- Remove from the oven and immediately invert onto wire racks to cool.
