1 large baguette
1 1/2 sticks unsalted butter, softened
4 cloves garlic, chopped
3 tablespoons freshly chopped parsley
Pinch coarse salt, optional

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Halve the baguette lengthwise and then crosswise to make 4 large pieces.
  • Put a wire rack on a baking sheet. In a small bowl, mix the butter, garlic, parsley and salt, if using, until fully combined. Spread the mixture evenly over the cut sides of the baguette. Put the baguette pieces cut-side up on the wire rack and bake until golden brown and crunchy, 5 to 7 minutes. Serve hot.

1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil
2 garlic cloves, peeled, crushed
Large handful of fresh flat-leaf parsley leaves, finely chopped
1 baguette
Kosher salt
Finely grated Parmesan

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 450°F. Heat butter and oil in a small saucepan over medium heat. Add garlic and parsley and cook, stirring occasionally, until butter is completely melted.
  • Slice bread in half lengthwise, then place on a baking sheet and brush cut sides with butter mixture.
  • Slice crosswise 1" thick, without cutting all the way through; season with salt and top with Parmesan. Bake until golden, 10-15 minutes.

⅓ cup fresh parsley, finely chopped
⅓ cup green onions, sliced
⅓ cup fresh oregano, minced
5 cloves garlic, minced
½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
½ cup fresh mozzarella cheese, chopped
½ cup shredded parmesan cheese
1 baguette, 8-inch (20-cm) piece

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a medium bowl, combine the butter, herbs, garlic, and cheese and mix until smooth.
  • Slice the baguette in half lengthwise, then spread the butter mixture to your liking evenly on the cut sides of the baguette (any leftover mix can be frozen for up to 1 month).
  • Place the baguette on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 15 minutes, until the cheese is bubbly and starting to brown on the edges.
  • Slice, cool, and serve!

1/4 cup lightly packed fresh flat-leaf parsley leaves
1/4 cup lightly packed fresh basil leaves
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
4 cloves garlic, roughly chopped
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, at room temperature
1/4 cup freshly grated Parmigiano-Reggiano
1 baguette

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
  • Add the parsley, basil, salt and garlic to a small food processor fitted with the blade attachment. Pulse the mixture until it's finely chopped. Add the butter and cheese and pulse to fully incorporate.
  • Cut the baguette in half through the middle and open the 2 pieces like a book, cut-side up. Spread the butter mixture evenly on each of the cut sides. Sandwich the 2 sides together and cut the baguette in half. Wrap each half in foil and place them on a rimmed baking sheet. Bake for 10 minutes.
  • Remove the baking sheet from the oven and turn the broiler to high. Carefully unwrap the foil packs and open the bread, exposing the buttered sides. Return the baking sheet to the oven and broil until the edges are toasted, about 1 minute. Cut each baguette quarter into 3 pieces and serve.

  • Whip the butter, olive oil, celery salt, poultry seasoning, cumin, onion powder, and garlic powder together until light and fluffy. Cover; refrigerate at least 4 hours. Allow the mixture to return to room temperature before using.
  • Preheat the oven's broiler and set the oven rack about 6 inches from the heat source.
