1 tablespoon white wine vinegar

6 sprigs fresh flat-leaf parsley, leaves only, roughly chopped
4 cloves garlic
4 to 8 dashes hot sauce

Steps:

  • Add the mayonnaise, sour cream, buttermilk, chives, vinegar, dill, salt, parsley, garlic and hot sauce to a food processor and pulse to combine.

I came up with this recipe after falling in love with a local Mexican restaurant's garlic butter dip that they serve with their grilled chicken. It took several tries to figure out what the missing ingredient was. This is pretty close. It would be good with steak, shrimp, or veggies too.

12 tablespoons salted butter
6 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley, plus more for garnish
All-purpose flour, for dusting
1 pound pizza dough
One 1-ounce packet dry ranch seasoning

Steps:

  • In a small saucepan over a medium-low heat, melt the butter with the garlic and parsley, then set aside.
  • On a lightly floured surface, roll the pizza dough into a large rectangle, about 8 inches by 12 inches. Pour over two-thirds of the butter mixture and brush so the dough is coated all over.
  • Sprinkle the ranch seasoning over the top. Roll the dough tightly into a 12-inch long roll and pinch the seam closed. Slice into twelve 1-inch pieces and place them cut-side up in a 10-inch cast-iron pan. Pour the remaining butter mixture over the top. Cover and let rise for 15 to 20 minutes.
  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
  • Bake until the rolls are golden brown, about 15 minutes. Serve immediately.

1 head broccoli, cut into long florets; or 2 bunches Broccolini; or a combination
1/2 cup sour cream
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup buttermilk
2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh parsley
2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh dill, or 1 teaspoon dried
1 tablespoon minced fresh chives, plus more for serving
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon finely grated lemon zest and 1 teaspoon fresh juice, plus more zest for serving (optional)

Steps:

  • Prepare an ice-water bath. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add broccoli; return to a boil and cook until crisp-tender, about 30 seconds. Drain broccoli and transfer to ice-water bath; drain again, then pat dry.
  • Whisk together sour cream, mayonnaise, buttermilk, parsley, dill, chives, garlic powder, and lemon zest and juice. Season with salt and pepper and serve with broccoli, sprinkled with more zest and chives.
