This Healthy Chocolate Granola recipe is super-easy to make, naturally sweetened with honey or maple syrup, and soooo chocolatey and delicious.

4 cups old-fashioned oats*
1 cup slivered almonds (or your preferred nuts)
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 teaspoon fine sea salt
1/2 cup melted coconut oil
1/2 cup maple syrup
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2/3 cup unsweetened flaked coconut (or 1/2 cup shredded coconut)
1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips (optional)

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350°F. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper, and set aside.
  • In a large mixing bowl, stir together oats, almonds, cocoa powder and sea salt until evenly combined.
  • In a separate mixing cup, stir together the melted coconut oil, maple syrup and vanilla extract until combined. Pour the coconut oil mixture into the oats mixture, and stir until evenly combined.
  • Spread the granola out evenly on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 20 minutes, stirring once halfway through. Then remove from the oven, give the mixture a good stir, then sprinkle the coconut evenly on top. Bake for 5 more minutes, until the granola is lightly toasted and golden.
  • Remove baking sheet from the oven and transfer to a wire baking rack. Let cool until the granola reaches room temperature. Then stir in the chocolate chips and/or any other add-ins that you prefer.
  • Serve immediately, or store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 month.

⅓ cup packed brown sugar
¼ cup maple syrup
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
¾ teaspoon kosher salt
1 pinch cayenne pepper
3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
2 cups rolled oats
¾ cup chopped almonds

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 250 degrees F (120 degrees C).
  • Combine brown sugar, maple syrup, vegetable oil, vanilla extract, salt, cayenne pepper, and cocoa powder in a bowl. Whisk thoroughly. Add oats and almonds. Toss and smear the mixture together using a spatula until well coated. Spread mixture evenly over a silicone-lined baking sheet.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes. Toss granola with a fork, breaking up any clumps to get a finer texture. Continue baking until desired texture is reached, 30 to 60 minutes more. Sprinkle some granola onto a plate; if it clinks, it is ready. Turn off the oven and leave granola inside the oven to dry and cool to room temperature.

This Homemade Chocolate Granola Recipe is deliciously crunchy, perfectly chocolate-y and so easy to make! A healthy way to enjoy chocolate for breakfast. Vegan and gluten-free friendly.

2 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
2/3 cup quick oats (see notes)
1/3 cup + 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 cup sliced almonds or roasted sunflower seeds
3 tablespoons chia seeds (or ground flaxseeds, or hemp hearts)
1/4 cup creamy cashew butter (or seed butter to keep nut free)
1/2 cup pure maple syrup
1/3 cup oil (melted cooled coconut, avocado, olive)
1/4 cup dark brown sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
1/2 cup regular sized chocolate chips
flaked sea salt, for sprinkling once cooled

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 325ºF and set aside a large baking sheet
  • Add dry ingredients: In a large bowl stir together rolled oats, quick oats, cocoa powder, sliced almonds (or sunflower seeds) and chia seeds; set aside.
  • Combine wet ingredients: In a medium bowl combine cashew butter (or seed butter) with maple syrup, oil, brown sugar and vanilla extract; stir until smooth then pour over dry ingredients. Stir using large wooden spoon or study spatula, making sure all of the oats are coated well (use hands at end if necessary).
  • Bake: Pour granola mixture onto baking sheet in one even layer and bake for 15 minutes, then flip the granola using a flat spatula and bake for another 10-12 minutes. Allow granola to cool on baking sheet for at least 15 minutes before adding mini chocolate chips (or they'll melt to the granola) and sprinkling with sea salt. After the granola is cool, you can add another ½ cup of regular sized chocolate chips if you'd like.
  • Serve granola in a bowl with cream, yogurt, or enjoy as snack. Granola makes a great homemade gift too!

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 250 degrees F (120 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Stir rolled oats, wheat bran, oat bran, and flax seed meal in a large bowl until well blended.
  • Combine honey and oil in a saucepan; cook and stir over medium-low heat until mixture starts to boil, about 3 minutes. Lower heat to low and simmer for another 2 minutes.
  • Remove saucepan from heat and stir in chocolate chips, vanilla extract, and salt. Pour chocolate mixture over dry oat mixture and stir until well coated; spread evenly over prepared baking sheet, gently pressing mixture down with spatula.
  • Bake in preheated oven for 30 minutes. Rotate baking sheet adn continue baking until slightly crisp, about 30 minutes more. Remove baking sheet from oven and cool granola until crisp, about 15 minutes. Break into chunks and store in an airtight container.

Every café in Sweden has a version of kladdkaka, a luscious, under-baked Swedish chocolate cake. It's easy to make with just a few ingredients.

Number Of Ingredients 8

2 eggs
1 cup (200 g) granulated sugar
1 cup (150 g) all-purpose flour or cake flour
1 Tbsp. vanilla extract
3 Tbsp. good-quality cocoa powder (I use Fazer), plus extra for dusting
A pinch of salt
1 stick (100 g) unsalted butter, melted and cooled slightly
Whipped cream, to serve

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F. Prepare a 8-inch deep round cake pan, greased and lined with baking parchment.
  • Whisk the eggs, sugar, and vanilla together until the mixture is light, fluffy and pale.
  • Sift all the dry ingredients into the egg and sugar mixture. Fold in until everything is incorporated, then fold in the melted butter.
  • Pour into the prepared cake pan. Bake in the preheated oven for around 10-15 minutes. The exact time can vary, so keep an eye on the cake. A perfect kladdkaka is very, very soft in the middle, but not runny once it has cooled-but almost runny. The cake will not rise, but it will puff up slightly during baking.
  • If you press down gently on the cake, the crust should need a bit of pressure to crack. When this happens, the cake is done. Leave to cool in the pan.
  • Serve with whipped cream, dusted with cocoa powder.
