2 cans (10 3/4 ounces each) condensed golden mushroom soup

Steps:

  • Sprinkle beef with salt and pepper. Place beef in 3 1/2- to 4-quart slow cooker, sprinkling onion and mushrooms with liquid between layers of beef. Pour soup over beef.
  • Cover and cook on low heat setting 7 to 8 hours or until beef is tender.

1 cup flour
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
6 beef cube steaks
3 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 large onion, sliced into rings
3 cups water
1 (3/4 ounce) packet brown gravy mix
1 (10 ounce) can cream of mushroom soup
1 (1 ounce) packet onion soup mix

Steps:

  • Heat oil in a skillet over med/high heat.
  • Put flour, salt and pepper in a zip lock bag and mix well. Add the cube steaks one at a time, close bag, and shake to coat in flour.
  • Add steaks to hot oil and brown on each side. Transfer steaks to the slow cooker.
  • Add sliced onion rings and 2 cups of water to the crockpot as well.
  • Cook on low setting for 8 hours.
  • Mix together gravy mix, onion soup mix and the cream of mushroom soup with the last 1 cup of water. Add this to the slow cooker and mix gently so you do not tear up the steaks.
  • Cook the cube steaks and gravy for 3 minutes longer. Serve over mashed potatoes or noodles.

1 lb very lean ground beef
2 low-sodium beef stock cubes (crushed*)
2 tbsp instant minced onion
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/4 cup plain bread crumbs
1/4 cup milk
10.75 oz can low sodium cream of mushroom soup*
10.75 oz can condensed French onion soup
1 pkg brown gravy mix
1 cup sliced mushrooms
2 tbsp water
1 tbsp oil
1/4 cup flour

Steps:

  • *Regular soup and stock cubes may be used if you wish.
  • Add the bread crumbs, instant onions, garlic powder, crushed stock cubes and milk in a medium bowl. Mix and let stand about 5 minutes.
  • Mix ground beef into the bread crumb mixture, mixing well. Form into 4 thin burgers.
  • Heat a large skillet over high heat and add oil.
  • Dust burgers with the flour then add to hot skillet. Brown for about 1 minute each side-you aren't cooking the meat, just quickly browning.
  • Place browned burgers in the bottom of a slow cooker (I used a 5 quart), stacking if necessary.
  • Mix the soups, mushrooms, gravy mix and water in a small bowl. Pour over burgers.
  • Cover and cook on LOW 6-8 hours.

6 ounces sliced mushrooms
½ onion (, sliced)
1 ½ cups beef broth ((low sodium))
1 ounce package brown gravy mix ((dry))
2 tablespoons ketchup
1 teaspoon dijon
2 tablespoons fresh parsley
2 tablespoons corn starch
4 tablespoons water
1 ½ pounds lean ground beef
1 egg yolk
¼ cup minced onion
⅓ cup Panko bread crumbs
3 tablespoons milk
1 clove garlic
salt & pepper to taste

Steps:

  • Place mushrooms & onions in the bottom of your slow cooker.
  • Combine beef patty ingredients and form 6 patties. Brown over medium high heat (about 3 minutes per side).
  • Layer beef patties over mushrooms. Combine remaining ingredients except water and cornstarch. Pour over beef and cook on low 5 hours.
  • Once cooked, remove patties and set aside.
  • Turn slow cooker onto high. Combine cold water and cornstarch. Stir into the broth and let cook a few minutes until thickened. Add beef back into the sauce to coat.
  • Serve over mashed potatoes or rice.
