- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
- Mix sugars, butter and shortening until light and fluffy. Mix in egg and vanilla. Stir in flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt. Stir in chocolate chips and brickle chips.
- Drop dough by rounded teaspoons onto ungreased cookie sheet. Make 9-10 minutes until lightly brown.

- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- Sift together flour and baking soda.
- Cream together butter, sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla.
- Add eggs one at a time.
- Add toffee pieces to mixture.
- Mix creamed mixture and dry mixture together.
- Use rounded tablespoon to measure dough.
- Place dough at least 2 inches apart on baking sheet.
- Bake for 10 to 12 minutes.
- *If you have time to chill the dough before baking, do so! You will have cookies that are crisp on the outside and chewy on the inside.

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- In large mixing bowl, cream butter and sugars. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in vanilla.
- Add flour and baking powder to creamed mixture, stir until well incorporated.
- Add in toffee bits and nuts, and stir well.
- Drop dough onto greased baking sheet at least 2 inches apart, tablespoon amounts.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until cookies is brown.
- Remove from oven and let sit for 2 minutes, and transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

- Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs and vanilla. In another bowl, whisk flour and salt; gradually beat into creamed mixture. Add chocolate chips and, if desired, walnuts; mix well. Divide dough in half. Shape each into a disk; wrap in plastic. Refrigerate until firm enough to roll, about 30 minutes., Preheat oven to 325°. On a lightly floured surface, roll each portion of dough to 1/4-in. thickness. Cut with a floured 2-in. triangle-shaped cookie cutter. Place 2 in. apart on ungreased baking sheets. - Sift together the flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt; set aside.
