Jalapeño Moscow Mules image

These Jalapeño Moscow Mules are the perfect slightly spicy twist on your favorite cocktail.

Number Of Ingredients 5

1 jalapeño (sliced)
1 cup vodka
8 oz Jalapeño Vodka (strained)
1/4 cup lime juice
24 oz ginger beer

Steps:

  • To make the Jalapeño Vodka, combine the sliced jalapeño and the vodka in a jar and shake. Allow to sit for 8 to 24 hours. The longer it sits the stronger it will get. If you want just a hint of jalapeño, just let sit for an hour.
  • Combine all the ingredients for the Jalapeño Moscow Mule and serve over ice.

SPICY MEXICAN MULE COCKTAIL

A spicy Mexican twist on the classic cocktail with tequila instead of vodka.

2 ounces tequila
1/2 lime (juiced)
1 dash hot sauce
5 ounces ginger beer ((or ginger ale))
jalapenos (sliced for garnish)
lime wedges (sliced for garnish)
1/2 Tablespoon sea salt (or another large grain salt)
1/4 teaspoon chili powder

Steps:

  • If making a salted rim, combine the sea salt and chili powder in a bowl or plate that the glass can fit in. Wet the glass rim with a lime wedge and press/roll the rim of the glass into the salt for it to stick.
  • For each drink, measure the tequila and pour into the glass over ice.
  • Add the juice of 1/2 lime and a dash of hot sauce. Top off with ginger beer, approximately 5 ounces depending on the size of the glass.
  • Garnish with sliced jalapenos and lime wedges as desired.

1 habanero (seeded and sliced into wheels)
1 tablespoon lime juice
Ginger beer

Steps:

  • Place one habanero wheel in a copper mug and muddle the habanero to release the oils.
  • Add ice, then pour in the vodka and lime juice.
  • Top with ginger beer, then stir well and serve.

2 ounces Silver Tequila- brand of choice
3 ounces Ginger Beer (recommend Q Mixer )
Fresh Lime (Cut into wedges)
Fresh Jalapeno (Cut into 1 inch chunks- seeds and ribs removed for less heat)
Ice

Steps:

  • In a copper mug muddle 2 lime wedges until they are completely juiced. Add 1 inch jalapeno chunk to the mug, remove the seeds and ribs/pith for less heat, muddle lightly to just bruise the skin. NOTE: if you like more heat, leave in the seeds and ribs/pith, and give it a really good muddle.
  • Add ice to the mug, about 3/4 full.
  • Add 2 ounces of tequila.
  • Float in about 3 ounces of ginger beer.
  • Give the cocktail a stir and taste. Add more tequila or ginger beer as desired.
