Strawberry Low Fat Jello Cake Recipes
STRAWBERRY LOW FAT JELLO CAKE
This is by far the BEST low fat recipe!! :)

Steps:
- Pre-Heat Oven to 325 degrees.
- ** Sart as though you were making a Duncan Hines Classic White Cake Mix. However, on the back of the box it gives you specific directions on how to make it low fat - instead of oil you substitute in 1 tbsp of applesauce, use 3 egg whites and I believe it is 1.5 cups of water, but again this will all be written on the back of the box for the "low fat option".
- ** After you bake the cake as directed, you take it out of the oven and let the cake sit on the counter top to cool down (about 20 mins).
- ** While it is cooling down you can start the jello.
- Boil 2 cups of water and combine 2 packets of jello, stir for about 3 minutes.
- ** Using a fork, start poking several holes all over the cake. (1 usually poke LOTS of holes down a line and do about 5 lines across)
- ** Then pour the hot jello liquid all over the cake.
- ** Stick the cake in the refrigerator for at least 5-8 hours (I usually just leave it in over night) and then take the cake out and "frost" it with a container of fat free cool whip (you can add strawberries on top for an extra touch)
- ****This cake will knock the socks off anyone who eats it - Guaranteed!!! :)

Steps:
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour three 8-inch cake pans.
- Combine cake mix, gelatin mix, oil, eggs, strawberries, and flour in a large mixing bowl. Pour equal amounts into the prepared cake pans.
- Bake in the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, 20 to 30 minutes. Remove from the oven and allow to cool completely, about 30 minutes.
- While cakes are cooling, mix powdered sugar, butter, and vanilla extract together in a bowl by hand. Chill for about 20 minutes.
- Whip chilled frosting until fluffy. Sandwich cake layers together with some frosting. Spread remaining frosting over the top and sides.
