Sweet and Spicy Baked Keto Chicken Wings image

My family loves these low-carb and keto-friendly baked chicken wings! They're a staple around our house during football season. I love to serve them with blue cheese dressing for dipping.

aluminum foil
cooking spray
½ cup butter
¾ cup hot pepper sauce (such as Valentina®)
¼ cup sucralose sugar substitute (such as Splenda®)
¼ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon garlic powder
3 pounds chicken wing pieces, drumettes and flats
½ cup blue cheese salad dressing

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C). Line a rimmed baking pan with foil. Spray a wire rack with cooking spray and set inside the baking pan.
  • Melt butter in a small saucepan. Mix in hot sauce, sucralose, salt, and garlic powder. Remove from heat and set sauce aside.
  • Place chicken wing pieces on the prepared rack.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes. Remove from the oven, pour off any juices accumulated in the bottom of the pan, and turn chicken pieces over. Bake for an additional 15 minutes.
  • Remove chicken from the oven and transfer to a large bowl. Cover with sauce and toss to coat. Return chicken to the rack on the baking pan and bake until no longer pink at the bone and the juices run clear, 15 to 30 minutes. An instant-read thermometer inserted near the bone should read 165 degrees F (74 degrees C).

3 pounds chicken wings
1-1/2 cups ketchup
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 small onion, finely chopped
1/4 cup finely chopped sweet red pepper
2 tablespoons chili powder
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1-1/2 teaspoons crushed red pepper flakes
1 teaspoon ground mustard
1 teaspoon dried basil
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1 teaspoon pepper
Ranch dressing and celery stalks, optional

Steps:

  • Cut wings into 3 sections; discard wing tip sections. Place chicken in a 4-qt. slow cooker. In a small bowl, combine the remaining ingredients. Pour over chicken; stir until coated. Cover and cook on low 5-6 hours or until chicken juices run clear. If desired, serve with ranch dressing and celery stalks.

¼ cup granular sucralose sweetener (such as Splenda®)
2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
1 tablespoon soy sauce
¼ teaspoon ground ginger
¼ teaspoon onion powder
¼ teaspoon salt
5 pounds cooked chicken wings

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Spray a baking sheet with cooking spray.
  • Combine sriracha, butter, sucralose, mustard, soy sauce, ginger, onion powder, and salt in a saucepan. Cook and stir over medium heat until blended and heated through, about 5 minutes.
  • Place cooked wings in a large bowl with sauce and toss gently to coat. Spread on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until sauce thickens slightly, 5 to 10 minutes.

½ cup soy sauce
¼ cup packed brown sugar
½ tablespoon vegetable oil
½ teaspoon minced fresh ginger root
½ teaspoon garlic powder
1 ½ pounds chicken wings

Steps:

  • In a 9x13 inch casserole, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, oil, ginger, and garlic powder. Mix until brown sugar completely dissolves into the mixture. Place the chicken wings in the dish and turn them over until they are all well coated. Cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 4 hours. Turn the chicken again, after 2 hours.
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Bake chicken at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C), covered, for 45 minutes. Turn the chicken wings, and spoon sauce from the bottom of the pan over the tops of the wings. Cook an additional 50 minutes, uncovered.
