1 (3 lb) beef roast
2 tablespoons steak spice
2 cups water
2 tablespoons bistro brown gravy mix
4 large potatoes, cut in 4ths
4 carrots, cut in 4ths
3 stalks celery, cut in half
1 large green pepper, cut into large chunks
1 large white onion, cut into large chunks
1 cup fresh mushrooms, medium sized left whole

Steps:

  • Cover the beef roast with steak spice and let sit in fridge for a few hours.
  • Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Put roast in roaster. Mix water and gravy mix together and put in roaster. Roast at 300 degrees for a couple hours, (depending on what size of roast)and adding more water, if needed. About an hour before the roast is done add all the vegetables. Season with salt and pepper. Continue roasting for the hour. When done, serve with fresh buns and drizzle the juice on top of the veggies and meat. Absolutely delicious.

3 cups high protein wheat flour
½ cup white sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
4 eggs
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
¾ cup vegetable oil
2 cups water

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 10 inch round cake pan.
  • In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, soda and salt. Make a well in the center and add eggs, vanilla, oil and water. Mix until smooth. Pour batter into 10 inch round cake pan.
  • Bake in preheated oven for 25 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into cake comes out clean. Allow to cool before frosting.

4 -5 1/2 lbs roasting chickens
1 tablespoon salt
1 tablespoon poultry seasoning
1 1/2 teaspoons black pepper
1/4 cup butter, room temperature

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Rinse chicken thoroughly and pat dry.
  • In a small bowl, stir together salt, pepper, and poultry seasoning.
  • Sprinkle the mixture over the chicken, inside and out.
  • Let stand at room temperature for 30 minutes or even better, overnight in the refrigerator.
  • Rub the chicken inside and out with the softened butter.
  • Place chicken, breast side down, in a roasting pan.
  • Bake for 1 hour.
  • Turn the chicken to breast side up and bake for 45 minutes to 1 hour longer or until juices run clean when pricked with a fork between the leg and the thigh.

8 pounds pork spareribs
3 cups ketchup
1 cup barbeque sauce
1 cup brown sugar
2 ½ tablespoons lemon juice
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
1 dash hot pepper sauce, or to taste
3 tablespoons steak sauce, (e.g. Heinz 57)
2 cloves garlic, minced

Steps:

  • Place the ribs in a large stock pot with enough water to cover. Bring the water to a boil and cook over medium-high heat for 1 hour.
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • In medium saucepan, combine ketchup, barbeque sauce, brown sugar, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, hot pepper sauce, steak sauce and garlic; blend well. Cook the sauce over medium heat for approximately 20 minutes. (Please note that the above ingredients are all to taste. Use more or less of anything you like. I never make the ribs the same way twice!)
  • Cut the ribs between the bones and place in a baking pan. Pour sauce over ribs, cover and cook for 30 minutes. Remove foil and continue cooking for an additional 30 minutes.
