TEMPTING TERIYAKI CHICKEN STEW
I created this dish that combines two of my favorite tastes, salty and sweet. I'm always looking for new ideas for my slow cooker and this one's a keeper! -Amy Siegel, Clifton, New Jersey

Steps:
- In a large skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat; brown chicken on both sides. Place vegetables in a 4-qt. slow cooker; add chicken. In a small bowl, mix the preserves, maple syrup, teriyaki sauce, ginger and cayenne; pour over chicken., Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or until chicken is tender. Remove chicken and vegetables to a platter; keep warm. , Transfer cooking liquid to a small saucepan. Skim fat. Bring cooking liquid to a boil. In a small bowl, combine cornstarch and water until smooth; gradually stir into pan. Return to a boil, stirring constantly; cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened. Serve with chicken and vegetables.

TERIYAKI CHICKEN
A very easy to make chicken and tasty too, with a nice flavor!

Steps:
- Rinse chicken halves, and pat dry with paper towels. Place chicken cut side down in a 9x13 inch baking dish.
- In a medium mixing bowl, combine sugar, soy sauce, grated ginger and garlic. Mix well, and pour mixture over chicken. Cover and refrigerate for at least 3 hours.
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
- Bake chicken uncovered in the preheated oven for 1 hour, basting frequently. Test for doneness, making sure there is no pink left in the meat. Let cool slightly, then cut into smaller pieces to serve.

- Place chicken in a 4- or 5-qt. slow cooker. In a small bowl, mix sugar, soy sauce, vinegar, garlic, ginger and pepper; pour over chicken. Cook, covered, on low 4-5 hours or until chicken is tender., Remove chicken to a serving platter; keep warm. Transfer cooking juices to a small saucepan; skim fat. Bring cooking juices to a boil. In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and cold water until smooth; stir into cooking juices. Return to a boil; cook and stir 1-2 minutes or until thickened. Serve with chicken and, if desired, rice.

TERIYAKI CHICKEN STIR-FRY
This teriyaki chicken stir-fry is something to make when you just don't know what to cook.

- Whisk teriyaki marinade, soy sauce, ginger, brown sugar, red pepper flakes, and black pepper together in a large glass or ceramic bowl. Add chicken and toss to evenly coat. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and marinate in the refrigerator for 5 hours.
- Heat a wok over medium-high heat. Add scallions, garlic, and oil; stir-fry for about 1 minute. Add broccoli, snow peas, and bell pepper; stir-fry for 2 minutes more. Add stir-fry sauce and mix until vegetables are coated.
- Remove chicken from the marinade and shake off excess. Discard the remaining marinade. Add chicken to the wok and stir-fry until chicken is no longer pink in the center and the juices run clear, about 5 minutes.

Steps:
- In a pan, cook cut chicken over medium-high heat until almost done. Salt and pepper to taste.
- Reduce heat to medium and stir in the crushed garlic.
- Add in the soy sauce, honey, and 1 tablespoon of the sesame seeds. Stir until thickened.
- Remove the chicken from the pan, leaving the sauce, and add the vegetables to the pan.
- Cover the pan for several minutes and cook until the vegetables begin to soften, then remove the lid and stir until the sauce is thick again.
- Split the rice, vegetables, and chicken evenly between 4 containers. Top with a sprinkle of sesame seeds and sliced green onion. Refrigerate for up to 4 days.

- Garnish with sliced green onions, and roasted peanuts.

- Combine 1 cup potato, turnips, and 1 can of broth in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer 8 minutes.
- Combine potato mixture and milk in blender or food processor and blend until smooth.
- Heat butter in large heavy saucepan over medium-low heat. Add leek, thyme and garlic. Cook 12 minutes until leek is tender.
- Add 1 cup of potato, 1 can of broth, and carrot. Cover and simmer 8 minutes.
- Stir in greens and chicken. Cover and simmer another 12 minutes until chicken is cooked through.
- Stir in potato puree, vinegar, pepper sauce, salt, and pepper. Simmer, uncovered, a further 6 minutes.
