TEXAS ROADHOUSE PRIME RIB RECIPE

Texas Roadhouse Prime Rib Recipe image

Provided by insanelygood

Categories     Recipes

Time 2h45m

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 whole uncut ribeye (about 12 oz. per person)
Marinade:
2 Tablespoons black pepper
2 Tablespoons sugar
1/2 cup kosher salt
1/4 cup garlic (chopped)
1/4 cup liquid smoke
1/4 cup soy sauce

Steps:

  • The first step is to make the marinade. You will need to prepare this two days in advance. To make, mix all ingredients for marinade. Mix well until combined and refrigerate overnight. This allows enough time to integrate all those wonderful flavors together.
  • The second step is to marinade the ribeye. Place the prime rib on a rack in a large pan. Pour half the marinade over the top side and rub it all over. Next, flip the meat over, pour the rest of the marinade, and rub all over. Cover the pan and refrigerate overnight.
  • Preheat your oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit. Bake the meat for 30 minutes just until the outside of the meat is brown and seared. Then, lower the heat to 250 degrees Fahrenheit. Continue baking for another two hours or until your meat thermometer says 120 degrees.
  • That's the temperature for medium-rare. If you want to increase the level of doneness, wait until the reading is 10 degrees higher for each state (i.e. 130 for medium, 140 for medium-well, etc.).
  • Give your meat at least an hour to rest before slicing. This will give the juices time to settle in the meat, resulting in an even juicier and tastier prime rib.
  • Slice and enjoy. Congratulations, you did it! It's time to reap your rewards. Carve that tender meat, have a taste, and serve with Au jus.

3 tablespoons onion powder
1 tablespoon salt
2 teaspoons cayenne pepper

Steps:

  • Obtain a medium-sized bowl, a pair of scissors, an empty spice jar with a shaker top and a plastic bag with a zip-seal top.

TEXAS ROADHOUSE ROLLS

Texas Roadhouse Rolls image

Learn how to make Texas Roadhouse Yeast Rolls and honey cinnamon butter with this easy copycat recipe and video. The best soft and sweet dinner rolls!

Provided by Stephanie Manley

Categories     Breads

Time 1h40m

Number Of Ingredients 11

1 cup milk (warm 100 degrees)
1 1/8 teaspoon active yeast (or 1 package)
1/3 cup sugar
3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour (plus more for kneading)
1 egg
1/3 cup butter (melted plus 1/4 cup butter, melted (optional) (unsalted is best, salted butter is fine to use))
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup salted butter (softened)
1 teaspoon cinnamon
2 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons powdered sugar

Steps:

  • In a cup or small bowl, stir together the warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Allow the yeast to proof and begin to activate while you prepare the other ingredients. (This is not necessary, but I prefer this to use milk cold out of the refrigerator).
  • Using a stand mixer or food processor, combine the flour, egg, 1/3 cup melted butter, and salt. Add the milk mixture and process until you have a smooth dough; it will be stickier and wetter than regular bread dough. Place the dough in a greased bowl, turn the dough to grease all sides, and cover with a towel. Let rise until it has doubled in size.
  • When the dough has doubled, punch it down and turn it out on a floured board. Let rest for 10 minutes.
  • Roll out the dough into a large, flat rectangle approximately 1/2 inch thick. Cut into 16 portions with a sharp knife and place on a greased baking sheet and let rise again, until doubled.
  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Bake the rolls for 10 minutes on the greased baking sheet. They will be light brown when removed from the oven. If desired you can brush the tops of the rolls with the remaining 1/4 cup melted the butter before serving.
  • Prepare honey cinnamon butter by combining butter, cinnamon, honey, and powdered sugar with a mixer until well blended.

Provided by Chef GreanEyes

Categories     Pork

Time P2DT30m

Yield 1 rack, 2-8 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 18

1 slab pork loin rib, frozen
1/4 cup texas roadhouse rib seasoning
2 1/2 cups water
1/2 cup liquid smoke
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1/4 cup minced fresh onion
1 1/2 cups water
1/2 cup tomato paste
1/2 cup white vinegar
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons honey
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 3/4 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon liquid smoke
1 teaspoon whiskey
1/4 teaspoon coarsely ground fresh black pepper
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
1/8 teaspoon paprika

Steps:

  • Score the frozen ribs several times on the back of the rack.[3]
  • Allow to thaw overnight.
  • Preheat oven to 275 degrees Fahrenheit. Place a wire rack in a large shallow pan large enough to hold the rack of ribs.
  • Rub 1/8 cup of the Texas Roadhouse rib seasoning over each side of the ribs. Use additional seasoning if needed to cover each side of the ribs.
  • Combine the water and liquid smoke in the large pan. Mix well.
  • Place the ribs in the pan on top of the wire rack. Do not allow the ribs to touch the water-liquid smoke mixture. Cover the pan tightly with aluminum foil.
  • Bake for about five hours. Cook until the ribs nearly fall off the bone.
  • While the ribs are cooking, saute the onion in vegetable oil in a saucepan. When the onion is soft, add the remaining ingredients and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to a simmer and simmer for an hour over low heat, until thickened.
  • Preheat a charcoal or gas grill.
  • Grill covered for about four minutes on each side. Brush with BBQ sauce, then flip to allow the sauce to caramelize. Repeat with the other side. Serve.

  • Texas Roadhouse Rolls. If you’ve got a huge bowl of steaming chili in front of you, then you are going to want something that you can wipe around the plate (provided you finish it, Texas Roadhouse dishes are huge).
  • Texas Roadhouse Chilli. Nothing says Texas more to us than chili. We think that Texas Roadhouse might just have the best chili on the planet. We make sure to add exactly the same flavors.
  • Steak Rub. They love a BBQ down in Texas, and if you asked a hundred people, you’d get a hundred different answers on which is the best spice rub. We are going to go out on a limb here and say this one is right up there.
  • Texas Roadhouse Green Beans. A plate piled high with green beans is an absolute joy. Texas Roadhouse beans stand out. They are cooked to perfection and retain just a little crunch and squeak when you bite into them.
  • Texas Roadhouse Loaded Skins. As potato dishes go, this has to be one of our all-time favorites. Crispy golden potato skins, topped with a mix of sour cream, bacon, and tasty cheddar cheese?
  • Cactus Blossom. No cacti were harmed in the making of this dish. If you’ve ever seen a cactus blossom, it is normally a wide-open flower. You will achieve the same result if you are handy with a knife and have a decent-sized white onion to hand.
  • Texas Roadhouse Seasoned Rice. The sides at Texas Roadhouse are something special. We don’t know how they manage to make something ordinary so amazing.
  • Texas Roadhouse Ribs. Mentioning ‘Texas’ without mentioning ribs is sacrilege. This dish is truly iconic and is what Texas Roadhouse is famous for. Small eaters, look away now.
  • Texas Roadhouse Rattlesnake Bites. We weren’t quite sure what to make of these when we first heard the name. But when we tasted them, it soon became apparent where the ‘bite’ comes from.
  • Texas Roadhouse Pork Chops. While we love pork chops on their own, Texas Roadhouse makes a real effort to make them extra special. How? Oh, just the inclusion of a rich, creamy sauce.

  • Make the marinade two days before cooking the meat. For this, you need to mix kosher salt, sugar, black pepper, soy sauce, liquid smoke, and chopped garlic. Once you mix them well, put the marinade in the refrigerator and let it stay overnight so that all flavors can integrate together.
  • Marinade the whole, uncut ribeye by pouring half the amount over the prime rib that’s put on a rack in a large pan. Make sure you rub the marinade all over the rib. Then, flip the rib over and pour the remaining, rubbing it all over. Put the lid on and refrigerate overnight.
  • Bake the rib in a preheated oven at 450°F for half an hour or until you notice the meat is seared and brown on the outside. After the first half an hour, reduce the heat to 250°F and bake for two more hours, or until the meat thermometer shows 120°F.
  • This temperature indicates medium-rare, 130°F indicates medium, 140°F indicates medium-well, so wait until you get the ideal reading for you.
