This cilantro cream sauce can be used as a dip, or as a sauce for fish or chicken. My husband eats it on everything he can consume! Taste and add additional seasoning if necessary. tomatillo sauce is usually spicy, so be prepared!

1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1 tablespoon sour cream
1 (7 ounce) can tomatillo salsa
1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1 teaspoon celery salt
½ teaspoon ground cumin
2 teaspoons garlic powder
1 bunch fresh cilantro, chopped
1 tablespoon fresh lime juice

Steps:

  • Combine cream cheese, sour cream, salsa, pepper, celery salt, cumin, garlic powder, cilantro and lime juice in a blender or food processor. Blend until smooth and creamy. Place in a serving bowl.

Creamy cilantro that doubles as a salad dressing and dipping sauce is made with yogurt, sour cream, garlic, jalapeno and lots of cilantro! This magical sauce will become your new favorite sauce and is great for dipping, on salads, tacos, and grilled meats.

2 cups cilantro leaves and stems (about 1 small bunch )
1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt
1/2 cup sour cream (can sub with Greek Yogurt)
3-4 cloves garlic
1/4 cup lime or lemon juice
1/4 cup olive oil
1/2 teaspoon cumin (optional)
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
1 jalapeno, deseeded (optional )

Steps:

  • Add all the ingredients to the food processor, season with salt and pepper. Blend until smooth and creamy. Taste and adjust salt and pepper to taste.
  • Transfer to a dressing bottle or air-tight container and store in the fridge for up to 1 week.
  • Use on salads, tacos, burrito bowls, as a dipping sauce or on rice and grilled meats.

  • Pick cilantro, keeping those stem on. Cilantro stem bags loads of flavors and it has so much nutrients in it. You don’t want to be throwing all those nutrients away.
  • Add cilantro, garlic cloves, jalapenos, salt, ground pepper, cumin powder, lime juice and Greek yogurt into the blender. (You can add all ingredients at a time too).
  • Note: Some food processor doesn’t work if there is liquid at the bottom of the processor jar. Did you know that!? Apparently I didn’t know and I struggled with my newly bought processor trying to figure out why it wouldn’t operate. For those reasons I prefer to add liquids while the processor is running. And also it helps emulsify the sauce into beautiful texture.

  • Place the cashews in a bowl and cover them with water. Soak for 1 hour (or the very least, 30 minutes if you have a high speed blender). For preparation in advance, you can soak the cashews overnight, which is even better.
  • Drain the cashews. Add the cashews, water, lime juice, cilantro, and kosher salt to a blender, then blend on high for 1 minute. Stop and scrape, then add additional liquid if necessary to come to the desired creamy consistency (we added 2 additional tablespoons; you could add more for a more drizzle-able sauce). Blend for several minutes until creamy and smooth. Store in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week or in the freezer for several months.
