Time 1h

Number Of Ingredients 21

1 whole frying chicken, skin on, in sections
peanut oil, enough to make a 3/4" deep pool in a cast iron skillet
8 slice wonderbread® white bread, lightly toasted
DREDGE # 1
3/4 c bisquick®
1/4 c cornstarch
1 tsp table salt
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp sage, dried & ground
1/2 tsp thyme, dried & ground
DREDGE # 2
1 c buttermilk, room temperature
1 egg
DREDGE # 3
1 pkg classic lay's® potato chips, finely crushed to about the size of rolled oats
1/4 c cornstarch
1 1/2 tsp paprika
1 1/2 tsp black pepper, freshly ground
1 tsp extra fine salt [use mcdonald's® if you have to!]

Steps:

  • 1. Combine all ingredients for "Dredge # 1" and place in a loaf pan or pie tin.
  • 2. Beat the egg into the buttermilk in a small mixing bowl. This is "Dredge # 2"
  • 3. For "Dredge # 3", thoroughly crush potato chips [in the bag] to about the size of rolled oats. "Shake" in the cornstarch, paprika, salt and pepper. Place in loaf pan or pie tin.
  • 4. Heat peanut oil to about 325 degrees in a cast iron skillet [about 3/4" deep].
  • 5. Pat chicken pieces dry with a paper towel. Dredge each piece thoroughly in "Dredge # 1"; shake of excess. Place in "Dredge # 2" and let mixture drip off. Then, completely cover with "Dredge # 3", gently pressing the chip coating into the chicken skin.
  • 6. Drop chicken in the hot oil and fry for about 8 minutes on the first side and about 6 on the second [you'll know when it's about done--- it'll be deep and golden!].
  • 7. Let drain on Wonderbread® White Bread toast [you'll thank me later!!] for about 7 minutes. Then . . . you know--- enjoy!

POTATO CHIP SANDWICH

Potato Chip Sandwich image

In the Summer, it's tomato sandwiches all the way but when you want a little more to your sandwich, this is always next on my list. OK- So this is a no brainer but it is sooo good! I've eaten sandwiches like this since I was a kid. I recently posted a picture of this on a swap that I had and I wasn't the only one that liked my sandwich like this! If you've never made this, do yourself a favor and try it out. :)

Fabulous sugar cookie with crushed potato chips in the batter and sandwiched between thick, rich chocolate frosting. These are sensational!

Provided by Teresa

Categories     Cookies, Brownies and Bars

Time 45m

Number Of Ingredients 10

3 1/2 sticks unsalted butter ((1 3/4 cups))
3 1/2 cups UNBLEACHED all-purpose flour (bleached flour toughens cookies)
2 tsp. vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 cup crushed potato chips
5 tbsp. unsalted butter (melted)
3 tbsp. cream (not milk)
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
3 cups confectioners' sugar
3 1-oz. squares unsweetened chocolate (or 1/3 cup cocoa)

Steps:

  • Blend butter to a peak, add sugar, and vanilla and cream again.
  • Stir in flour and potato chips.
  • Roll dough into balls and place on greased or sprayed cookie sheets. Can press down with fork dipped in sugar in a criss-cross fashion for a flatter cookie. (Or flatten with hands).
  • Bake at 350° for 15 minutes.
  • Cool.
  • Spread bottom of one cookie with chocolate icing.
  • Top with another potato chip cookie.
  • Mix together and spread between cooled cookies to make sandwiches.

THE POTATO CHIP SANDWICH THAT WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE ...
2015-11-30 The addition of crushed potato chips to the updated Monte was easy enough, pressing them into the egg-battered bread. I wanted to make sure the chips didn't burn, so the heat was set on medium. After about 3 minutes, I peeked and the surface was golden. One flip and 3 more minutes for the cheese to get extra gooey. Instead of the traditional strawberry jam, I served cranberry chutney. My ...

POTATO CHIP SANDWICH - HOUZZ
Yes, potato chips are called "crisps" by the Brits. As a young'un I ate more than a few potato chip sandwiches. Just chips on bread. I advanced to adding some peanut butter on there. Usually white bread but if we had the "Mrs. Bailey's" wheat, oh what a treat! And a peanut butter and bacon on toast is a joy to this day. I generally like peanut ...
