Won Ton Wrapper Appetizers image

Cheesy sausage-based filling in little cups made from baked won ton wrappers. The baked cups and filling may be prepared a day or two in advance (store covered in the refrigerator) and assembled shortly before serving.

1 (16 ounce) package wonton wrappers
1 pound sausage
1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
½ cup chopped black olives, drained
1 cup Ranch-style salad dressing

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Spray a miniature muffin pan with cooking spray.
  • Insert wonton wrappers into the muffin pan so as to form small cups. Bake 5 minutes in the preheated oven. Allow the baked wrappers to cool. Remove from the pan.
  • In a medium bowl, mix the sausage, Monterey Jack, Cheddar, black olives and Ranch-style dressing. Fill the baked wonton wrapper cups with the mixture.
  • Bake the filled wonton wrappers 10 to 15 minutes, until the sausage mixture is bubbly and slightly brown. Watch closely so the wonton wrappers do not burn.

36 Wonton wrappers
2 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
1 pound button mushrooms, finely chopped
5 cloves garlic, minced
salt, to taste
freshly cracked black pepper, to taste
1/4 cup Brie cheese, rind removed
5 slices smoked salmon lox or Sockeye Salmon, cut into small pieces
Capers for garnish

Steps:

  • Trim wonton wrappers with scissors to 2-1/2-inch squares or rounds and fit into 3 mini muffin tins. Bake at 375° for 6 to 7 minutes. Can be made 1 day in advance, cover at room temperature. In a large skillet melt butter with oil and sauté mushrooms with garlic, salt and pepper until all liquid evaporates; taste for seasoning. Set aside to cool; then spoon into prepared wonton baskets. Top each one with a pinch of Brie cheese, set under the broiler just until cheese melts slightly. Top with smoked salmon, garnish with capers and serve baskets with a dry white wine...... mmmmmm, they are good!

2 (3 ounce) cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup sour cream
1 garlic clove, pressed
3/4 teaspoon dill weed
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1 (2 1/2 ounce) package sliced deli roast beef
1/2 cup shredded swiss cheese
2 tablespoons shredded parmesan cheese
36 wonton wrappers

Steps:

  • Blend cream cheese until smooth with sour cream, garlic, dill, and pepper.
  • Chop beef finely and add to cream cheese along with other cheeses.
  • Put won ton wraps in mini cup cake tins sprayed with pam.
  • Put 1/2 to 3/4 teaspoon of mixture in each won ton, then dip fingers in water and pinch won ton together at top and twist to form a little package.
  • Bake at 350* about 15 minutes until lightly browned; serve warm.

I just thought up this recipe and there is really no name for it, so I just call them Won Ton Baskets Supreme. Most anything can be put into these baskets.

wonton wrapper
extra virgin olive oil
1 tablespoon butter
salt and pepper
1/2 lb mushroom (any type will do, finely chopped)
4 garlic cloves (minced)
1/2 lb smoked salmon, pieces (lox)
1/4 cup brie cheese

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  • Trim the won ton wrappers to approximately 2 1/2 inch squares with scissors.
  • Spray a miniature muffin tin with olive oil and spray the won ton wrappers lightly and put into muffin tin (I use a clean cork from a wine bottle to gently press the won tons into the muffin tin).
  • Bake for approximately 7 minutes. Remove from oven and cool. NOTE: You can make these a day ahead. Cover and store at room temperature.
  • In a large frying pan, melt butter and saute the mushrooms, garlic, salt, and pepper until there is no more liquid left.
  • Remove from heat and cool. Spoon into prepared won ton baskets. For each won ton basket, pinch off a small piece of brie cheese and place it on top of the mushrooms. Take a piece of smoked salmon and drape it on top of the cheese.
  • Just before serving, preheat oven to 350 degrees. Place the won ton baskets into oven just long enough to melt the brie cheese.
  • Remove from oven, sprinkle parsley on top and serve warm.
