This delicious cake takes only 3 minutes to prepare and cook! It's moist and flavourful, Great for a quick treat and amazing guests with a dessert made infront of their eyes in under 5 minutes.

Number Of Ingredients 7

2 tbsp Plain flour
2 tbsp Cocoa Powder
2 tbsp Caster Sugar
1 medium Egg
1 tbsp Vegetable Oil
1 tbsp Milk
* whipped cream to serve is optional

Steps:

  • This Recipe is so easy, all you have to remember is 2 spoons of the dry ingredients and 1 spoon of wet.
  • Grate the chocolate and whisk all the ingredients together in a large mug. (A fork works just as well as a whisk.)
  • Once well combined put the mug into the microwave for 2 minutes. Keep an eye on it though, as it is prone to over flowing :)
  • Remove from the microwave, puncture with a fork and leave to sit for 30 second. You can eat the cake straight from the mug or, Using a flat knife go around the edges to separate the cake from the mug before tipping it out onto a plate for serving. Grate on the left over chocolate and spoon on the whipped cream.

Steps:

  • Put all ingredients in a large mug and mix well.
  • Microwave for 3 minutes.
  • You will see cake rise, but it will fall when you take it out of the microwave. Microwave times may vary. If it looks done 15 or so seconds earlier, take it out.
  • Eat, but be careful, it's HOT!

¼ teaspoon fine salt
2 large eggs
1 egg white
⅔ cup sugar
12 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
½ cup milk
3 teaspoons cocoa powder
1 cup chocolate chips, melted

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a muffin tin with cupcake wrappers
  • Whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl.
  • In another medium bowl, beat the eggs and sugar with an electric mixer until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes.
  • While beating the eggs, gradually pour in the softened butter and vanilla. Continue to mix slowly and add half the flour mixture.
  • Add the milk, followed by the rest of the flour mixture, cocoa powder and chocolate chips.
  • Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out cleanly.
  • Cool for 10 minutes in the muffin tins then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely and decorate as desired.

¾ cup shortening
1 ⅔ cups white sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon instant coffee granules
1 pinch cayenne pepper
2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
⅔ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
¼ teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 ½ cups water

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease two 12 cup muffin pans or line with 18 paper baking cups.
  • In a medium bowl, beat the shortening and sugar with an electric mixer until light and fluffy. Mix in the eggs, one at a time, then stir in vanilla, instant coffee and cayenne pepper. Combine the flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda and salt; stir into the batter, alternating with the water, just until blended. Spoon the batter into the prepared cups, dividing evenly.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until the tops spring back when lightly pressed, 20 to 25 minutes. Cool in the pan set over a wire rack. When cool, arrange the cupcakes on a serving platter and frost as desired.
