2 cups Bisquick
1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 cup 7-up (or other lemon lime soda)
1/4 cup melted butter

Steps:

  • Add sour cream into Bisquick and mix together
  • Add 7 Up-the dough will be very soft.
  • Sprinkle additional Bisquick onto the counter and gently pat the dough out to desired thickness (about 1 inch)
  • Use the bottom of a glass or a biscuit cutter to cut out biscuits.
  • Place melted butter into 9 x 9 pan. Place biscuits on top of butter
  • Bake in a 450 oven until golden brown, about 8-10 minutes.

I'm going to start with the entirely honest disclosure of I have no idea where this recipe came from. I was at my mom's house the other day and I found this recipe for 4 Ingredient 7-Up Biscuits tucked into a box labeled "Really Good, Make Again." So, I did. Whoa, nelly! These are so great. Another honest disclosure...I kinda thought they wouldn't be good at all, but I'm so glad I tried them. The closest thing I can describe these to are the biscuits you find at a lot of the fast food type restaurants (which, btw, I love those biscuits). Enjoy!

4 cups Bisquick
1 cup sour cream
1 cup 7-Up
1/2 cup melted butter

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 425°.
  • In a large bowl, combine Bisquick, sour cream, and 7-Up.
  • Kneed and fold until well blended.
  • Pat dough onto a flat surface and cut biscuits with a round biscuit cutter (or a mason jar lid works wonders).
  • Pour butter into the bottom of a 9x13 casserole dish, then place biscuits on top of butter.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown. Enjoy!

1/2 cup salted butter (1-stick)
4 1/2 cups all-purpose baking mix such as Bisquick (I used Great Value brand)
1 cup 7-Up soda pop (or other lemon-lime soda), well chilled
1 cup cold sour cream (I used Daisy brand, Light)

Steps:

  • Measure the baking mix into a large mixing bowl and place it in the freezer until needed. Meanwhile, prepare a well-floured work surface. (I floured a sheet of parchment paper.) Preheat oven to 425°F. Cut the butter into pats and place them in a 9x13-inch baking dish; place it in the oven just until the butter melts, no longer. Remove from oven and set aside to cool. In a large bowl, make a well in the center of the cold baking mix; add 7-Up and sour cream to the well and stir together until combined then stir into the baking mix just until moistened. Do not over-mix dough. Turn the dough onto the floured work surface. Sprinkle baking mix or flour on top of the dough and gently pat out with hands to about 1-inch thickness. Cut biscuits out with a 2 - 2 1/2" biscuit cutter, leaving them where they are until all have been cut. Gather the scraps and pat out again. Place the biscuits in the pan on top of the melted butter. Place in oven and bake for about 15 to 20 minutes, or until golden brown. Remove from oven and let the biscuits sit for a few minutes to absorb any remaining butter.

  • Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C). Put butter in a 9x13-inch baking dish and place dish in the preheating oven until butter is melted.
  • Mix baking mix, lemon-lime soda, and sour cream together in a bowl until dough holds together and is sticky. Turn dough onto a floured work surface and roll into 1-inch thick circle. Cut circles out of dough using a cookie cutter or the rim of a wine glass and place in the melted butter.
