2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
1 cup butter or margarine, softened
¾ cup packed SPLENDA® Brown Sugar Blend
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
2 large eggs large eggs
1 (11 ounce) package NESTLE® TOLL HOUSE® Butterscotch Flavored Morsels, divided
½ cup chopped pecans

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Combine flour, baking powder and salt in medium bowl; set aside.
  • Combine butter, SPLENDA® Brown Sugar Blend and vanilla in a large mixer bowl; beat at medium speed until creamy. Beat in eggs. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in 1 cup of the morsels and the nuts. Spread into an ungreased 13 x 9-inch baking pan. Sprinkle with remaining 2/3 cup morsels.
  • Bake 30 to 40 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan on wire rack. Cut into bars.

Steps:

  • PREHEAT oven to 350°F
  • COMBINE flour, baking powder and salt in medium bowl. Beat butter, SPLENDA® Brown Sugar Blend and vanilla extract in large mixer bowl until creamy. Beat in eggs. Gradually beat in flour mixture. 1 cup brown sugar
¼ cup melted butter
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
½ cup all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
½ cup finely chopped walnuts

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Butter a 9-inch baking pan.
  • Stir brown sugar into melted butter until dissolved. Cool slightly and beat in egg and vanilla extract.
  • Sift flour in a separate bowl; resift flour with baking powder and salt. Stir flour mixture into the butter mixture; add nuts. Spread batter into the prepared pan.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out mostly clean, about 20 minutes. Do not overbake! Cut into bars.

This recipe is from the 1977 edition of Tea-Time at the Masters Cookbook, page 251 -- my family has enjoyed these brownies for almost 30 years! Probably the best blond brownie you will ever eat!

1 (16 ounce) box light brown sugar
3/4 cup butter (equals 1 1/2 sticks butter)
2 eggs, beaten
2 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup nuts, chopped

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees, or 325 degrees if using pyrex or glass.
  • Melt brown sugar and butter together. Cool mixture for about 5 minutes.
  • Add eggs.
  • Mix flour, baking powder, salt, vanilla and nuts together.
  • Add to other mixture.
  • Mix well.
  • Bake in greased 9 x 13 pan at 350 degrees for 30 minutes ~ if using pyrex or glass, reduce temperature to 325 degrees for 30 minutes.
  • Top with chocolate frosting, if desired ~ I usually don't!

1 box Betty Crocker™ Super Moist™ devil's food cake mix
1/2 cup butter, melted
1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk (not evaporated)
1/3 cup butterscotch chips
2 tablespoons unsweetened baking cocoa

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350°F. Line 8- or 9-inch square pan with foil, extending foil over 2 opposite sides of pan.
  • In medium bowl, stir together cake mix, melted butter and three-fourths of the condensed milk. Press half of the dough in bottom of pan. Bake about 6 minutes or until top just begins to set.
  • Meanwhile, turn remaining half of dough onto 10-inch square piece of foil; press dough into square slightly smaller than pan.
  • Drizzle remaining condensed milk over brownie base; sprinkle with butterscotch chips. Carefully place pressed-out dough in pan.
  • Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted 2 inches from side of pan comes out almost clean. Cool in pan on cooling rack at least 1 hour.
  • Use foil to lift brownie from pan. Sprinkle with cocoa. Cut into 3 rows by 3 rows.
