1 day-old everything bagel, torn
1/2 cup panko bread crumbs
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
1/4 cup butter, cubed
1 pound chicken tenderloins
1/2 teaspoon salt

Steps:

  • Preheat air fryer to 400°. Pulse torn bagel in a food processor until coarse crumbs form. Place 1/2 cup bagel crumbs in a shallow bowl; toss with panko, cheese and pepper flakes. (Discard or save remaining bagel crumbs for another use.), In a microwave-safe shallow bowl, microwave butter until melted. Sprinkle chicken with salt. Dip in warm butter, then coat with crumb mixture, patting to help adhere. In batches, place chicken in a single layer on greased tray in air-fryer basket., Cook 7 minutes; turn chicken. Continue cooking until coating is golden brown and chicken is no longer pink, 7-8 minutes. Serve immediately.

The base for these homemade bagels is a popular 2-ingredient pizza dough recipe. No yeast, no waiting for dough to rise, no boiling necessary. In and out of the air fryer in about 15 minutes. Optional toppings are everything bagel seasoning, poppy seeds, sesame seeds, or dried onion flakes.

1 ¼ cups self-rising flour
1 cup full-fat plain Greek yogurt
1 large egg white, beaten
3 teaspoons everything bagel seasoning

Steps:

  • Using a fork, mix flour and Greek yogurt together in a medium bowl until a crumbly dough forms. If mixture is too thick, add a little more yogurt or if too sticky, add a bit more flour.
  • Transfer dough to a lightly floured work surface, and knead until smooth, 5 to 7 minutes. Divide the dough evenly into 4 balls, rolling and stretching each into 3/4-inch thick ropes that are about 8- to 9-inches long. Connect both ends, pinching and sealing to form a bagel. Brush with egg white, and sprinkle with bagel seasoning.
  • Preheat an air fryer to 280 degrees F (137 degrees C). Line the fryer basket with a parchment liner or spray lightly with cooking spray.
  • Place the bagels in the basket, and cook until golden brown, 15 to 16 minutes. Do not crowd the basket, and cook in two batches if your air fryer is small.
  • Remove to a rack, and cool for about 15 minutes before slicing.

1 tablespoon parsley flakes
1 teaspoon seasoned salt
½ teaspoon ground black pepper
1 large egg
1 ½ pounds chicken tenderloins
cooking spray

Steps:

  • Preheat an air fryer to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C) according to manufacturer's instructions.
  • Combine flour, paprika, parsley, seasoned salt, and pepper in a large bowl. Beat egg in a separate bowl.
  • Dredge each chicken strip first in the seasoned flour, then in beaten egg, then back in the seasoned flour.
