ALMOND FUDGE BARS
Betty Crocker® fudge brownie mix provides a simple addition to these homemade bars.

Steps:
- Heat oven to 350°F. Spray bottom and sides of 13x9-inch pan with cooking spray.
- Make brownie mix as directed on brownie box using water, oil and eggs. Bake 20 minutes.
- Meanwhile, in medium bowl, mix sweetened condensed milk and egg with whisk. Pour mixture over partially baked brownie base. Sprinkle candy bar pieces evenly over base; top with sliced almonds. Bake 22 to 27 minutes longer or until center is set.
- Cool completely, about 1 hour 30 minutes. For bars, cut into 8 rows by 4 rows.

- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
- Beat 1 cup butter and brown sugar in a large bowl until smooth and creamy. Stir in eggs, 2 teaspoons vanilla extract, and 1/2 teaspoon almond extract; mix well. Combine oats, flour, sliced almonds, baking soda, and 1 teaspoon salt in another bowl; stir into butter mixture until batter is just mixed. Spread 2/3 batter into a 10x15-inch rimmed baking sheet.
- Heat chocolate chips, condensed milk, 2 tablespoons butter, and 1/2 teaspoon salt in a saucepan over medium heat until chocolate is melted, about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and stir in remaining 2 teaspoons vanilla extract and 1/2 teaspoon almond extract. Spread chocolate mixture into baking sheet over oat batter. Spoon remaining 1/3 oat batter over chocolate.
- Bake in the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, 20 to 25 minutes.

- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- Toast almonds in oven and watch carefully.
- Cool.
- In a medium bowl cream margarine and confectioners sugar.
- Add flour and mix well.
- Press into a 9 x 13 pan.
- Bake 10-15 minutes until lightly browned.
- In a suacepan melt (over medium heat) 1/3 cup margarine and then add cocoa.
- Remove from heat and add rest of the ingredients.
- Pour evenly over prepared crust.
- Bake 25-30 minutes or until filling is set.
- Cool and chill.
- Store covered in fridge.

- In a bowl, combine the flour and sugar; cut in butter until crumbly. Press into a greased 13x9-in. baking pan. Bake at 350° for 18-20 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool on wire rack., In a saucepan, combine the milk and 1 cup chocolate chips. Cook and stir over low heat until chips are melted. Remove from the heat; cool slightly. Stir in egg, almonds and extract. Spread over crust. Bake at 350° for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpicks inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack. In a microwave, melt shortening and remaining chips; drizzle over top. Cut into bars.

- Set oven to 350 degrees (second-lowest position).
- Line a 9 x 9-inch metal pan with foil (leaving an overhang of foil) butter or spray the foil with a non stick cooking spray.
- In a heavy-bottomed saucepan combine 1 cup chocolate chips, butter and 4 ounces unsweetened chocolate; stir over low heat until chocolates melt and the mixture is smooth; remove from heat and whisk in vanilla.
- Whisk in sugar then eggs and then flour.
- Add/mix in 1 cup toffee bits.
- Pour the batter into the pan.
- Bake bars for about 45 minutes, or until a toothpick or metal tester comes out with moist crumbs attached.
- Cool bars for 15 minutes (using a knife or metal spatula press down sides of edges to level top if needed).
- In a small saucepan bring the whipping cream to a simmer; add in remaining 1 cup chocolate chips and 1 ounce unsweetened chocolate, whisk until smooth.
- Pour the topping over the bars in the pan.
- Sprinkle with chopped toasted almonds and about 1/2 cup Skor toffee bits.
- Chill bars until cold (about 2 hours).
- Using the foil overhangs, lift the bars from the pan, fold down the foil sides, and cut into small squares.

- Preheat the oven to 350°. Spray an 8x8" pan and line with parchment paper. Spray the parchment paper and any of the exposed inside of the pan.
- Shortbread: In a large bowl, beat the butter, almond extract, powdered sugar, and salt until smooth and fluffy, 1-2 minutes. Gradually add the flour, mixing until just combined. Give it a final stir by hand to make sure everything is scraped up from the bottom and mixed in.
- Put the shortbread dough into the prepared pan and press into an even layer. Bake 14-15 minutes until lightly browned around the edges. Set on a rack to cool while you make the fudge topping.
- Fudge Topping: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the chocolate, condensed milk, and butter. Microwave on at 50 percent power for 30 seconds, then stir.
