Amaretto Freeze Recipes

AMARETTO FREEZE

Steps:

• Combine first 3 ingredients; stir well to combine. Position knife blade in food processor bowl; add one'third of ice cream mixture and process untile smooth. Transfer ice cream mixture to a freezer container. Repeat procedure twice. Freeze until firm.
• Serve in brandy snifters or wine glasses. Top each serving with a sprinkle of nutmeg.

AMARETTO SOUR SLUSHY

Steps:

• Combine amaretto, lemon juice, orange juice, and simple syrup in jar. Secure lid and shake to combine. Freeze until ice-cold but not solid, at least 2 hours and up to 5 hours.
• Transfer cocktail to a blender and add 2 cups ice. Purée on high speed until thick and smooth. (On a hot day, you may need to blend in a few more ice cubes to thicken, but keep in mind that the more you add, the more diluted the drink will be.)
• Divide cocktail between 2 chilled rocks glasses. Gradually pour ¼ oz. Fernet-Branca over the back of a spoon into each drink if desired. Garnish each with a brandied cherry and paper umbrella.

AMARETTO FREEZE

Steps:

• Mix amaretto and brown sugar together and stir until the sugar is dissolved. Combine the Amaretto mixture and the ice cream in container of blender and process until smooth. You may serve immediately in brandy snifters or pour mixture into parfait glasses. Fill 3?4 full and freeze. When ready to serve, top with a spoon of whipped cream and a cherry. Serves 6 as an after dinner drink. Double recipe to serve 6 for a parfait. Editor's Extra: I make this with non-fat vanilla yogurt so I can justify refills. Better plan on making several batches.

AMARETTO SLUSH

Steps:

• Combine first five ingredients in a large plastic container. Freeze at least 8 hours, stirring twice during this time.
• To serve, combine equal parts frozen mixture and 7-Up, stirring well.
• Store any remaining mixture in freezer.
