AMISH BEEF AND CHEESE ONE DISH CASSEROLE
This is a recipe from my cookbook called "Amish Cooking", compiled by a Committee of Amish Women, Deluxe Edition. This is under their "one dish meals and casseroles" section. This reminds me of a baked spaghetti dish or goulash type of meal.

Steps:
- Cook the spaghetti until it is tender, then drain it. In a skillet, brown the beef and onion in the butter. Add the flour, milk and seasonings to taste, cook it til it thickens.
- Mix half a cup of the cheese with the spaghetti and place 1/2 of the spaghetti in a baking dish. Add the meat mixture, top it with the tomatoes, and add the rest of the spaghetti. Top with the remaining cheese and bake it at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes.

Steps:
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
- Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add egg noodles and cook until tender, about 7 minutes. Drain and return to the pan. Mix in the cream of chicken soup until noodles are coated.
- Crumble the ground beef into a large skillet over medium-high heat. Drain the grease, and stir in the tomato soup, brown sugar, pepper and salt. Spread half of the beef in the bottom of a greased 2 1/2 quart casserole dish. Arrange 5 slices of cheese over the beef. Top with half of the noodles, then repeat layers ending with cheese on top.
- Bake for 35 minutes in the preheated oven, until cheese is browned and sauce is bubbly.
