CRUST:
8 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup graham cracker crumbs (about 4-5 sheets of graham cracker sheets)
FILLING:
8 apples, peeled and sliced
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon corn starch
1/4 cup golden raisins
TOPPING:
1 cup Graham cracker crumbs (4-5 sheets of graham crackers)
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 stick sweet butter

Steps:

  • Preheat oven 350°F CRUST: In a food processor combine the ingredients needed for crust and press into a pie plate. Bake for about 8 minutes and then cool. FILLING: Combine all of the ingredients needed for filling in a large bowl and toss. Place the apples into the pie crust that has just finished cooling. TOPPING: Combine the ingredients needed for crumb topping in a food processor until it is crumbly and sprinkle over the apples. Bake in the oven for about 30 to 35 minutes.

6 cups apples - peeled, cored and sliced
1 ¼ teaspoons ground cinnamon
¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 cup white sugar
½ cup buttermilk baking mix
¾ cup milk
2 eggs
2 tablespoons butter, softened
1 cup buttermilk baking mix
½ cup chopped walnuts
⅓ cup dark brown sugar
3 tablespoons margarine, chilled

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C.)
  • In a large bowl, combine apples, cinnamon, nutmeg, white sugar and 1/2 cup baking mix. Stir together the milk and eggs and mix into apple mixture, Pour filling into pie plate and dot with butter.
  • To make the Topping: In a large bowl, combine 1 cup baking mix, walnuts, brown sugar and margarine. Mix until crumbly and sprinkle over top of apples.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 60 minutes, or until apples are cooked and topping is golden brown.

2 cups graham cracker crumbs
3/4 cup sugar, divided
1/2 cup butter, melted
4 cups sliced peeled tart apples (about 4 medium)
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Steps:

  • In a bowl, combine the cracker crumbs, 1/4 cup sugar and butter until crumbly; press two-thirds onto the bottom and up the sides of an ungreased microwave-safe 9-in. pie plate. Set remaining crumb mixture aside., In a bowl, toss apples with cinnamon and remaining sugar. Arrange in crust; sprinkle with reserved crumbs. Microwave, uncovered, on high for 6 minutes; rotate. Cook 5-6 minutes longer or until apples are tender. Cool on a wire rack. Store in the refrigerator.

1 egg yolk
1 (19 ounce) can apple pie filling
1 cup chopped pecans, divided
3 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons butter

Steps:

  • Brush the bottom and sides of the crust with egg yolk and discard any leftover yolk.
  • Place the crust on a baking sheet.
  • Bake at 375 degrees for 5 minutes.
  • in a medium bowl combine the pie filling with 1/2 cup chopped pecans, then spread into the pie crust.
  • In a small saucepan combine the remaining 1/2 cup pecans, brown sugar and butter; cook over medium heat until boiling, immediately spread over the pie filling.
  • Bake for 30-35 minutes or until bubbly.
  • Let cool slightly before serving.

1 Tbsp. powdered sugar

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375°F. Brush pie crust lightly with some of the egg white. Bake 5 minutes; cool.
