TOASTED ALMOND PARTY SPREAD



Toasted Almond Party Spread image

This rich spread goes a long way at holiday parties. Almonds and Swiss cheese are a classic combination that never goes out of style. -Kim Sobota, Plymouth, Minnesota

1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
1-1/2 cups shredded Swiss cheese
1/2 cup sliced almonds, toasted, divided
1/3 cup mayonnaise
2 tablespoons sliced green onions
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Assorted crackers

Steps:

  • In a small bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth. Stir in the Swiss cheese, 1/3 cup almonds, mayonnaise, onions, pepper and nutmeg. , Spoon into a lightly greased pie plate. Bake at 350° for 12-15 minutes or until heated through. Sprinkle with remaining almonds. Serve warm with crackers.

1 (250 g) package light cream cheese, softened
1 1/2 cups grated swiss cheese
1/3 cup Miracle Whip light
1/3 cup sliced almonds, toasted
2 tablespoons chopped green onions

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Combine all ingredients;mix well.
  • Spoon mixture into a deep 2 cup oven proof casserole dish.
  • Bake 15 minutes, stirring after 8 minutes.
  • Garnish with toasted sliced alomnds if desired.
  • Serve warm with vegetables, crackers, breadsticks.

Absolutely Almond Pound Cake mix - Tastefully Simple Item
Filling:
8 oz cream cheese, softened
2 eggs
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp almond extract
Frosting:
1/4 cup butter
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
1 1/2 TBSP milk or cream
1 tsp almond extract

Steps:

  • Combine first 2 ingredients; pat into a greased 9X13 pan. Beat filling ingredients until creamy, and pour over crust. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes; cool. Combine frosting ingredients; spread over cooled bars.

3/4 cup water
3/4-1 cup olive oil
1 -2 large garlic clove
1/2 lemon, juice of
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (to taste)

Steps:

  • Place almonds in a blender with the 3/4 C water and mix well.
  • Add the remaining ingredients and blend for 2 minutes, or until creamy.
  • Almonds may be blanched before blending if allergies or taste so dictate.
