Baby's Spinach, Apple and Potato Puree image

A simple blend of spinach, apple and potato that will provide your baby with lots of important nutrients. Try our yummy variations too!

Number Of Ingredients 3

Ingredients

1 small white potato, diced*
1/4 medium apple, cored and diced*
small handful of spinach leaves

Steps:

Place the diced potato into a small saucepan and just cover with water. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 5 minutes.
Add the apple cubes and simmer for a further 5 minutes, or until both the apple and potato cubes are tender.
Add the spinach and simmer for a minute or 2 more, until the leaves have wilted.
Using a slotted spoon, transfer the veggies and apple to a blender. Blend until smooth, adding as much of the cooking water as necessary to achieve the texture you desire.

In a medium saucepan, bring 2 inches of water to a boil. In a steamer basket, add in the apples and broccoli, place basket over boiling water and cover. Steam for 7 minutes. Add in spinach on top of the apples and broccoli, cover and steam for another 2 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly. Reserve steamer water.
Transfer all ingredients to a blender or food processor and puree on high for 1-2 minutes. Add the reserved steamer water, breast milk or formula, in 1/4 cup increments, to get puree to the right consistency. I had to add 1/4 cup of water to the puree above.
