I created this dish to fill two pans because these cheeseburger sliders disappear fast. Just cut the slider burgers recipe in half if you want to make only one batch. -Nick Iverson, Denver, Colorado

2 packages (17 ounces each) Hawaiian sweet rolls
4 cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided
2 pounds ground beef
1 cup chopped onion
1 can (14-1/2 ounces) diced tomatoes with garlic and onion, drained
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
3/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 teaspoon pepper
24 bacon strips, cooked and crumbled
GLAZE:
1 cup butter, cubed
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
4 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
2 tablespoons sesame seeds

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°. Without separating rolls, cut each package of rolls horizontally in half; arrange bottom halves in 2 greased 13x9-in. baking pans. Sprinkle each pan of rolls with 1 cup cheese. Bake until cheese is melted, 3-5 minutes., In a large skillet, cook beef and onion over medium heat until beef is no longer pink and onion is tender, breaking beef into crumbles, 6-8 minutes; drain. Stir in tomatoes, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper. Cook and stir until combined, 1-2 minutes., Spoon beef mixture evenly over rolls; sprinkle with remaining cheese. Top with bacon. Replace tops. For glaze, in a microwave-safe bowl, combine butter, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce and mustard. Microwave, covered, on high until butter is melted, stirring occasionally. Pour over rolls; sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake, uncovered, until golden brown and heated through, 20-25 minutes. Freeze option: Cover and freeze unbaked sandwiches; prepare and freeze glaze. To use, partially thaw in refrigerator overnight. Remove from refrigerator 30 minutes before baking. Preheat oven to 350°. Pour glaze over buns and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake sandwiches as directed, increasing time by 10-15 minutes, until cheese is melted and a thermometer inserted in center reads 165°.

Another great use for the air fryer: making sliders and burgers. No need to fire up a grill, smoke up your kitchen or clean up greasy messes. You can use this recipe and add your favorite twists and toppings like onion jam, barbecue sauce or fancy condiments.

1 1/2 pounds ground beef (preferably 80 percent lean)
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
8 slices Cheddar
8 slices cooked bacon
8 slider buns, split
4 leaves butter lettuce, each leaf torn in half
2 Roma tomatoes, cut into 8 slices
1 red onion, very thinly sliced
1/2 cup barbecue sauce
1/2 cup ketchup
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup yellow mustard

Steps:

  • Preheat an air fryer to 375 degrees F.
  • Divide the ground beef into 8 equal portions. Roll each into a loose ball, then press them flat until they are each just wider than the slider buns (they should be about 1/2 inch thick). Make a small indent in the center of each patty. Season the patties generously with salt and pepper.
  • Place the patties in a single layer of an air fryer basket. Close the fryer and cook until the patties are browned and an instant-read thermometer inserted into the center of the patties registers 150 degrees F, 5 to 7 minutes.
  • Place a slice of cheese and a slice of bacon on each patty and cook until the cheese is melted and the patties are cooked to the desired doneness, about 1 minute.
  • Carefully remove the patties from the air fryer and place on the bottoms of the slider buns. Top each patty with lettuce, tomato, onion and 1 tablespoon each barbecue sauce, ketchup, mayonnaise and mustard. Cover with the top buns and serve.

  • Bake in the preheated oven until cheese is melted, 3 to 5 minutes.
  • Cook and stir beef and onion in a skillet until beef is browned, 5 to 8 minutes. Drain grease. Stir in tomatoes, 1 1/2 teaspoons Dijon mustard, 1 1/2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Cook until fully combined, 1 to 2 minutes.
  • Spoon beef mixture over rolls. Sprinkle remaining 1 cup Cheddar cheese and bacon on top. Cover with top half of rolls.
  • Combine butter, brown sugar, 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard, and 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce in a microwave-safe bowl. Cover and microwave on high until butter is melted, about 1 minute. Stir until blended and pour over rolls. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top.

1/2 cup ketchup

1 can (16.3 oz) refrigerated Pillsbury™ Grands!™ Southern Homestyle Buttermilk Biscuits (8 Count)
8 slices (3/4 oz each) American cheese, quartered
4 strips cooked bacon, quartered
1 tablespoon butter, melted
1 teaspoon sesame seed
1/2 cup shredded Cheddar cheese (2 oz)
1/2 cup chopped tomatoes
2 tablespoons chopped hamburger pickle chips

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350°F. In 12-inch ovenproof skillet, cook beef, onions and steak seasoning over medium-high heat 7 to 9 minutes, stirring occasionally, until beef is brown; drain. Pour into medium bowl; stir in ketchup and mustard. Carefully wipe out skillet. Spray with cooking spray.
  • Separate dough into 8 biscuits. Cut each biscuit in half to form 2 strips. Press each strip into 4x2-inch rectangle. Place 2 quartered pieces of American cheese and 1 quartered strip of bacon on one half of each rectangle. Fold dough over cheese and bacon (do not seal), and place around edge of skillet.
  • Brush biscuits with melted butter; sprinkle with sesame seed. Pour burger mixture into center of skillet.
  • Bake 30 to 35 minutes or until biscuits are cooked through and deep golden brown on top. Top beef mixture with shredded Cheddar cheese. Bake 1 to 3 minutes longer or until cheese is melted. Top beef mixture with tomatoes and pickles.

3/4 cup seasoned bread crumbs

1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
1-1/2 pounds ground sirloin
1 medium sweet red pepper or green pepper, cut into 1-inch pieces
1 small red onion, cut into 1-inch pieces
6 slices process American cheese, cut into quarters

Steps:

  • Thaw dough according to package directions. Cut each roll in half; reshape portions into balls. Place 2 in. apart on lightly greased baking sheets. Cover with clean kitchen towels; let rise in a warm place until almost doubled, about 30 minutes. , Uncover dough; gently press to flatten slightly. Whisk egg and water; brush over tops. Sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake at 400° for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown. Remove to wire racks., In a large bowl, combine the first five kabob ingredients. Crumble beef over mixture and mix well. Shape into 24 patties.
