6 large eggs
2 cups half-and-half
1 cup low-fat milk
2 tablespoons white sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1 pinch salt
1 loaf French bread, cut into 1-inch slices
1 cup chopped pecans
1 cup light brown sugar
1 cup unsalted butter, melted
2 teaspoons light corn syrup
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
2 tablespoons confectioners' sugar, or to taste

Steps:

  • Generously butter a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • Whisk eggs, half-and-half, milk, white sugar, vanilla extract, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, 1 teaspoon nutmeg, and salt together in a bowl. Dip each bread slice into egg mixture and arrange in overlapping rows in the prepared baking dish. Cover dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate, 8 hours to overnight.
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Mix pecans, brown sugar, butter, corn syrup, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, and 1 teaspoon nutmeg together in a bowl; spread evenly over bread in the baking dish.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until cooked through and golden brown, about 45 minutes. Generously top French toast with confectioners' sugar.

¾ cup chopped toasted pecans

Steps:

  • Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • Whisk eggs, half-and-half, 1 tablespoon brown sugar, and vanilla extract in a bowl until mixture is smooth and brown sugar has dissolved. Pour 1 cup egg mixture into prepared baking dish. 16.3 ounce can Grands refrigerated biscuits
1 large egg
1/4 cup sugar
1 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon ((or cinnamon))
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 cup heavy cream
1 cup milk
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) salted butter, (melted)
1 cup light brown sugar, (packed)
2 tablespoons corn syrup
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Steps:

  • Cut each of the biscuits into 6 pieces and set aside.
  • In a large bowl whisk the egg till frothy then whisk in sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon. Finally, mix in the heavy cream and milk until combined well.
  • Add the chopped biscuits into the cream mixture and stir well. Allow to soak for about 5 minutes.
  • Preheat oven to 350°F and spray the bottom of a 9"x13" pan with nonstick spray or line with nonstick aluminum foil.
  • Remove the biscuits from the cream mixture using a mesh strainer (discard the remaining liquid.) This part is just like making regular French Toast.
  • Place biscuits in an even layer into the bottom of the baking dish.
  • Cover french toast with foil and place on the middle rack in the oven and bake for 20 minutes.

8 tablespoons (1 stick) salted butter, plus more for serving
1/2 cup whole milk
5 large eggs
1 1/4 cup packed brown sugar

Pinch of kosher salt
1 cup bourbon
3/4 cup chopped pecans
Powdered sugar, for serving

Steps:

  • Heat a large nonstick skillet over medium-low heat and melt 2 tablespoons of the butter.
  • In a large bowl, combine the milk, eggs, 1/4 cup of the brown sugar, the cinnamon, and vanilla. Whisk together until everything's combined and smooth.
  • One by one, dunk the slices of bread into the egg mixture and place them on the buttery skillet.
  • Fit as many slices in the skillet as you can, cooking them until golden on the first side, about 2 1/2 minutes. Flip to cook them on the other side for about 2 minutes. Remove them to a plate. Keep cooking the sauce, stirring constantly, until the mixture is deep golden, 2 to 3 minutes. Be careful not to cook it too long as it will become chewy, you want a nice caramelly sauce.   • Serve two pieces of French toast with a little butter. Sift over some powdered sugar.
  • Spoon on a generous amount of the sauce then top with whipped cream and a sprinkling of cinnamon.
