Baked Pork Chops with Potatoes and Gravy image

Out of the oven pops pork and potatoes, complete with gravy. What a comfort!

6 medium red-skinned potatoes, thinly sliced
1 medium onion, chopped
1 (12-oz.) jar zesty onion gravy
4 (3-oz.) boneless pork loin chops, trimmed of fat
1/2 teaspoon garlic-pepper blend

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350°F. Spray 13x9-inch (3-quart) baking dish with nonstick cooking spray. Arrange potato slices in sprayed baking dish; top with onion. Pour gravy over potatoes and onion. Cover tightly with foil.
  • Bake at 350°F. for 30 to 35 minutes or until potatoes are tender.
  • Meanwhile, sprinkle both sides of pork chops with garlic-pepper blend. Spray large nonstick skillet with nonstick cooking spray. Heat over medium-high heat until hot. Place chops in pan. Cook 1 to 2 minutes on each side or until browned.
  • Place pork chops over potato mixture. Cover; bake an additional 15 to 20 minutes or until pork is no longer pink.

I make this recipe on cold nights...the gravy is SOOOO good!! I serve it with whipped potatoes and I practically have my family licking the plate.

4 -6 pork chops
1 tablespoon flour
1 (1 1/4 ounce) package Lipton Onion Soup Mix
2 1/4 cups boiling water
1 cup sour cream

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Brown chops and move to a 9x13 baking dish.
  • Leave 1 tablespoon drippings in pan. Add to pan the flour and onion soup mix. Blend in water. Pour over chops in baking dish.
  • Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  • Uncover and continue to bake for another 30 minutes.
  • Remove pan from oven.
  • Remove chops from pan to serving dish and then add in the sour cream to the liquid in the pan to make gravy.
  • Serve immediately.
  • Serve with potatoes or noodles.

4 (1 1/4 inch thick) pork chops
salt and pepper to taste
1 tablespoon butter
¾ cup milk
¼ cup water
1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Season pork chops with salt and pepper to taste. Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium high heat. Saute the pork chops in the butter for about 5 minutes per side.
  • In a separate medium bowl, combine the milk, water and soup. Place the pork chops in a 9x13 inch baking dish and pour the soup mixture over the chops.
  • Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 45 minutes.

½ yellow onion, sliced
4 pork chops
26 ounces condensed cream of mushroom soup
¼ cup water
2 cubes beef bouillon

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).
  • Place sliced onion pieces on the bottom of a glass baking dish. Lay pork chops over the onions. Cover chops evenly with cream of mushroom soup. Add water and bouillon to the top, breaking up bouillon cubes to get the flavor spread out. Cover with aluminum foil.
  • Bake in the preheated oven, stirring the gravy once or twice, until no longer pink in the centers, about 1 hour. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the center of a chop should read 145 degrees F (63 degrees C).

1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 tablespoon margarine
1 can cream of potato soup, condensed

Steps:

  • Coat chops with flour and seasonings.
  • Brown in margarine on both sides in skillet.
  • Spoon soup over all.
  • Cover and cook on low until chops are tender, about 40 minutes.
  • Remove chops.
  • Cook and stir gravy, scraping down the pan until bubbly and thickened.
  • Serve over chops.
