1 (9 inch) prepared graham cracker crust
1 large banana, sliced
2 cups cold milk
2 (3.5 ounce) packages instant vanilla pudding mix
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 (8 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
¼ cup caramel ice cream topping

Steps:

  • Place banana slices in bottom of pie crust.
  • In a large bowl, combine milk, pudding mixes and cinnamon. Beat with wire whisk for 1 minute.
  • Gently stir in whipped topping to pudding, then spoon mixture into pie crust.
  • Cover and refrigerate for 4 hours until pie is set up. When pie is ready serve with caramel topping.

1 package (3.4 ounces) instant vanilla pudding mix
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 carton (12 ounces) frozen whipped topping, thawed, divided
1 graham cracker crust (9 inches)
2 medium firm bananas, sliced
Additional banana slices, optional

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, whisk milk, pudding mix and vanilla for 2 minutes (mixture will be thick). Fold in 3 cups whipped topping. , Pour 1-1/3 cups of pudding mixture into pie crust. Layer with banana slices and remaining pudding mixture. Top with remaining whipped topping. If desired, garnish with additional banana slices. Refrigerate until serving.

¾ cup white sugar
⅓ cup all-purpose flour
¼ teaspoon salt
2 cups milk
3 egg yolks, beaten
2 tablespoons butter
1 ¼ teaspoons vanilla extract
1 (9 inch) baked pastry shell, cooled
4 bananas, sliced

Steps:

  • In a saucepan, combine the sugar, flour, and salt. Add milk in gradually while stirring gently. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture is bubbly. Keep stirring and cook for about 2 more minutes, and then remove from the burner.
  • Stir a small quantity of the hot mixture into the beaten egg yolks, and immediately add egg yolk mixture to the rest of the hot mixture. Cook for 2 more minutes; remember to keep stirring. Remove the mixture from the stove, and add butter and vanilla. Stir until the whole thing has a smooth consistency.
  • Slice bananas into the cooled baked pastry shell. Top with pudding mixture.
  • Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 12 to 15 minutes. Chill for an hour.

Vanilla Crumb Crust:
1-1/2 cups fine ground vanilla wafers, (measure wafers before you grind).
1/2 cup sugar
6 Tablespoons (3/4 stick) butter melted
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Banana Cream Pie:
2/3 cup sugar
1/4 cup cornstarch
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 cups milk
4 egg yolks, slightly beaten
2 Tablespoons butter, softened
1 Tablespoon, plus 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 large bananas, sliced

Steps:

  • Vanilla Crumb Crust: Grind Vanilla Wafer cookies, add sugar, cinnamon, and melted butter, blend together and press into 9" pie pan. Put in refrigerater and cool while making pie filling. Banana Cream Pie: Mix sugar, cornstarch, and salt in 2-quart heavy saucepan. Gradually stir in milk. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens and boils. Boil and stir 1 minute. Stir at least half of the hot mixture gradually into the egg yolks. Stir this mixture back into hot mixture in heavy saucepan and return to medium heat, bring back to boil, and boil 1 minute; remove from heat, add vanilla and butter, press plastic wrap over hot mixture, until cooled to room temperature. Take Crumb Crust out of refrigerator and slice bananas into crumb crust. Pour cooled pie filling over sliced bananas and top with Sweetened Whipped Cream, (to follow) Sweetened Whipped Cream: 1 cup heavy whipping cream 3 Tablespoons sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla Beat whipping cream, sugar and vanilla to soft/firm peaks Pour onto pie filling, refrigerate until ready to serve.
