1/2 cup shredded coconut
1 wedge lemon
3 bananas, peeled and cut into 2-inch pieces
1 cup plain or vanilla yogurt

Steps:

  • Toast coconut in a small pan or in toaster oven.
  • Squeeze a little lemon juice over bananas to keep them from browning. Coat bananas with yogurt and top with lightly toasted coconut. Serve.

1 1/2 teaspoons cumin seeds
1/4 teaspoon cardamom seed
1/4 teaspoon ground coriander
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
2 cups ripe bananas, mashed
2 cups nonfat plain yogurt

Steps:

  • Melt butter in a skillet over low heat.
  • Lightly crush spices together with a mortar and add to the butter, stir until fragrant.
  • Stir in bananas and remove from heat.
  • Stir in the yogurt and transfer to a serving dish.
  • Chill well in the refrigerator before serving.

Banana Raita is recipe of my grandmother. I thought to share recipe to all. This recipe has all amazing flavour. It is tangy, sweet and crunch in texture. This recipe has few ingredients which can be made in minutes. It can be accompanied with roti's. It is cooling and refreshing raita.

Curd - 500 ml
Sugar - 3 tbsp
Split Mustard Seeds - 3 tbsp
Banana chopped - 1 no's
salt to taste

Steps:

  • In a bowl, whisk the curd smoothly.
  • Add then salt, sugar and split mustard seeds.
  • Combine well all the ingredients.
  • Then add chopped banana into the bowl.
  • Mix well.Garnish with coriander leaf and split mustard seeds.
