This deliciously spicy steak and beans over rice will have family and friends asking for more. It's a favorite in my recipe collection. -Marie Leamon, Bethesda, Maryland

Ingredients

1-1/2 pounds boneless round steak
1 tablespoon prepared mustard
1 tablespoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 garlic clove, minced
2 cans (14-1/2 ounces each) diced tomatoes, undrained
1 medium onion, chopped
1 teaspoon beef bouillon granules
1 can (16 ounces) kidney beans, rinsed and drained
Hot cooked rice

Steps:

Cut steak into thin strips. Combine mustard, chili powder, salt, pepper and garlic in a bowl; add steak and toss to coat. Transfer to a 3-qt. slow cooker; add tomatoes, onion and bouillon. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours. Stir in beans; cook 30 minutes longer. Serve over rice.

Cubed beef is simmered in beer with lots of onions. What else is better then that? Served with boiled carrots that you can add right in the pot. The gravy this makes tastes awesome on mashed potatoes!

Ingredients

1 ½ pounds cubed beef stew meat
salt and pepper to taste
½ cup all-purpose flour for coating
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 (12 fluid ounce) bottle beer
1 ½ cups water
1 tablespoon crushed dried rosemary
1 pinch dried dill weed
2 medium onions, chopped
1 teaspoon minced garlic
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley

Steps:

Season the beef with salt and pepper, then dredge in flour to coat. Heat the oil in a large pot over medium-high heat. When the oil is hot, add the meat, and cook until browned on all sides, turning as needed. Remove the meat from the pot, and set aside.
Add the onion and garlic to the pot; cook and stir until clear and starting to brown. Return the meat the pot, and pour in the beer and water making sure to loosen any bits of food from the bottom of the pan. Season with rosemary, dill and parsley.
Bring to a boil, then simmer over low heat for 1 1/2 hours.

4 lbs boneless chuck roast
12 mushrooms, cut into chunks
salt & pepper
1 1/2 cans beer
2 large onions, thinly sliced
1 1/2 tablespoons catsup
2 large green peppers, sliced
1 tablespoon prepared mustard

Steps:

Salt & pepper meat and brown lightly in heavy skillet.
Add onions, pepper and mushrooms and brown lightly.
Pour beer over all, stir in catsup and mustard.
Cover tightly and simmer slowly for 2 to 2 1/2 hours or until meat is tender.
