EASY UPSIDE-DOWN PIZZA CASSEROLE



Easy Upside-Down Pizza Casserole image

I can't recall where I got this recipe from, but it is a very simple casserole that is very good too! Your little ones will love it for sure!

1 ½ pounds lean ground beef
1 (15 ounce) can pizza sauce
1 (4 ounce) can sliced mushrooms, drained
¼ cup sliced pitted ripe olives
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese, or more to taste
1 (10 ounce) can refrigerated biscuit dough

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook and stir beef in the hot skillet until browned and crumbly, 5 to 7 minutes. Drain and discard grease. Stir in sauce, mushrooms, and olives. Cook and stir until heated through, about 2 minutes more. Transfer mixture to a 2-quart rectangular baking dish. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top of the casserole.
  • Flatten each biscuit with your hands and arrange on top of the cheese.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until biscuits are golden, 15 to 17 minutes.

1 jar (4.5 oz) mushroom pieces and stems, drained
1 jar (26 to 28 oz) tomato pasta sauce (any variety)
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (4 oz)

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350°F. Cook and drain pasta as directed on package.
  • Meanwhile, in 10-inch skillet, cook beef over medium heat 8 to 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until brown; drain. In ungreased 2 1/2-quart casserole, mix pasta, beef and remaining ingredients except cheese.
  • Cover and bake about 30 minutes or until hot and bubbly. Sprinkle with cheese. Bake uncovered about 5 minutes longer or until cheese is melted.

2 cups uncooked egg noodles
1/2 lb lean ground beef
1 onion, chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 green bell pepper, chopped
4 ounces canned mushrooms
1 cup sliced pepperoni
16 ounces pizza sauce
4 tablespoons milk
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350.
  • Cook noodles as directed.
  • Brown the ground beef in sauce pan over medium heat. Add onion and cook until translucent about 5-7 minutes. Add garlic and green bell pepper and cook for 4 minutes longer. Drain any excess fat from pan and add the cooked noodles, pepperroni, mushrooms, pizza sauce and milk. Mix well to combine well and the sauce has covered everything.
  • Pour mixture into a casserole dish and cover with cheese. Cook for 30 minutes. Remove from oven and allow to cool 5 minutes before serving.

14 inches prepared pizza crust
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese

Steps:

  • Cook first 3 ingredients and 3 teaspoons Italian seasoning in a large skillet over medium-high heat, stirring until beef crumbles and is no longer pink. Drain well, and return to skillet.
  • Add 1/4 cup flour, stirring until blended. Stir in pasta sauce. Bring mixture to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring constantly. Spoon mixture into a lightly greased 13- x 9-inch baking dish. Sprinkle evenly with 1 1/2 cups mozzarella cheese.
