Bionicos: Mexican Fruit Cups image

The sweetest Mexican street food you'll find in Mexico is the Bionicos, which is a Mexican fruit cup with Mexican yogurt cream on top. And guess what? It's easy to learn how to make Bionicos at home with this Bionico recipe!

Number Of Ingredients 12

½ Cup Strawberries
½ Cup Cantaloupe
½ Cup Papaya
½ Cup Pineapple
1/4 Sour cream
1/4 Cup Plain Yogurt
1/4 Cup Condensed Milk
1 Teaspoon Vanilla
Chopped Pecans
Raisins
Sweetened Shredded Coconut
Granola

Steps:

  • Dice your fruit and combine in a bowl. Set aside.
  • In a second bowl, combine your sour cream, condensed milk, vanilla, and yogurt. Mix well.
  • Scoop yogurt mixture, evenly, into the bottom of two serving bowls, leaving about ¼ cup in the bowl.
  • Top with an even mixture of the fruit.
  • Sprinkle the rest of the yogurt mixture on top of the fruit in each bowl.
  • Top the fruit bowls with raisins, pecans, granola, and coconut. (Honey if desired.)

The kind of energy that you may need to keep you going when you need to stay on task during a busy workday at the office, or when you're out and about with the family and would like to treat everybody to something that'll keep their spirits up.

⅓ cup Plain yogurt
⅓ cup Mexican crema
⅓ cup Sweetened condensed milk
1 tsp Vanilla extract
1 cup Each of strawberries, papaya, red apple( or other colors for extra sweet), banana, and cantaloupe(or honeydew for extra sweet)
½ cup Each of granola, raisins, and shredded coconut

Steps:

  • Mix ingredients with the crema. In a bowl mix together all the ingredients for the crema, except for the vanilla extract. Once you have a good consistency you can then add in the extract and stir it further until it's mixed in as well.
  • Cut the fruits. Cut up all of the fruits, except for the strawberries, into small manageable cubes and slice up the strawberries into slices.
  • Divide the fruit. In equal amounts, divide the cubed fruits into the 4 individual bowls. Then place the strawberries in the center on top.
  • Prepare the topping. Now comes the time for the topping. Spread an 1/8th of a cup of the raisins, granola, and shredded coconut on top of everything, making sure to spread pretty evenly throughout.
  • Serve. Enjoy it in cups.
