Fresh fruit in vanilla syrup joins homemade biscuits and Reddi-wip in a luscious dessert.

1 teaspoon cinnamon sugar
½ cup water
3 tablespoons granulated sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
3 cups cut-up mixed fresh fruit (sliced strawberries, bananas, peaches and/or blueberries)
Reddi-wip Original Whipped Light Cream

Steps:

  • Preheat oven and prepare the baking mix according to package directions for rolled biscuits, adding 2 teaspoons vanilla with the measure of water listed in the package directions. Roll out or pat dough into 6-inch circle on lightly floured surface; cut into 6 wedges. Place, 2 inches apart, on ungreased baking sheet. Brush tops lightly with additional water; sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.
  • Bake according to package directions.
  • Mix 1/2 cup water and granulated sugar in small saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Reduce heat to low; simmer 5 minutes, or until slightly thickened, to a syrup-like consistency. Remove from heat; cool slightly. Stir in remaining 2 teaspoons vanilla. Pour over the fruit in large bowl; toss gently to coat.
  • Split biscuits horizontally in half. Place bottom halves of biscuits on 6 dessert plates; cover evenly with half of the fruit mixture. Top each with a serving of Reddi-wip and top half of biscuit. Spoon remaining fruit mixture evenly over biscuits; top with additional serving of Reddi-wip.

FRUIT SALADS ARE BEST when based on what's in season. While the fruit may change, I always use a delicious vanilla syrup that works wonders with any combination. Below is a list of what fruits you'll find in season that pair well in this salad.

Number Of Ingredients 6

6 tablespoons sugar
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Pinch of freshly ground black pepper
1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
6 cups cubed fruit

Steps:

  • Combine 1 cup water with the sugar, cinnamon, and pepper in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil over high heat, lower the heat, and simmer until the sugar is dissolved, about 2 minutes.
  • Remove the syrup from the heat and stir in the lemon juice and vanilla. Let cool to room temperature before using.
  • Toss the fruit with the syrup and serve.
  • The syrup can be stored in a covered container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
