QUICK AND SIMPLE BROCCOLI AND CHEESE



Quick and Simple Broccoli and Cheese image

This recipe is great for just-getting-started-cooks.

Number Of Ingredients 4

1 (10 ounce) package frozen broccoli florets, thawed
3 tablespoons butter, melted
salt and pepper to taste
½ cup shredded Cheddar cheese

Steps:

  • Place broccoli in a steamer over 1 inch of boiling water, and cover. Cook until tender but still firm, about 2 to 6 minutes. Drain and transfer to a microwave safe casserole dish.
  • Pour melted butter over broccoli (use more or less, to taste) and season with salt and pepper. Sprinkle cheese over the top and microwave, on high, for 1 minute, or until cheese is melted.

Cheese with broccoli is simply too good to resist. Adding cheese is a great way to get kids to eat their veggies!

1 pound lean ground beef
1 package Hamburger Helper™ cheeseburger macaroni
1 cup milk
3 cups hot water
1 package (10 ounces) frozen chopped broccoli
1 package (3 ounces) cream cheese, cut into cubes

Steps:

  • Brown ground beef in 10-inch skillet; drain.
  • Stir in uncooked Pasta, Sauce Mix, milk, water and broccoli. Heat to boiling, stirring occasionally. Stir in cream cheese; reduce heat.
  • Cover and simmer 13 to 15 minutes, stirring occasionally; remove from heat. Uncover and let stand about 5 minutes or until sauce is as thick as you'd like. Stir before serving.
