Number Of Ingredients 6

2 ½ cups white sugar
½ cup light corn syrup
¼ teaspoon salt
½ cup water
2 egg whites
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Steps:

  • In a 2-quart saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup, salt, and water. Cook to hard-ball stage (260 degrees F, or 125 degrees C), stirring only until sugar dissolves.
  • Meanwhile, beat egg whites to stiff peaks. Gradually pour syrup over egg whites, beating at high speed on electric mixer. Add vanilla and beat until candy holds its shape, about 4-5 minutes. Quickly drop from a teaspoon onto wax paper; cool.

1 pint marshmallow creme
2 cups sugar
1/2 cup water
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 cup pecans
1 pinch salt

Steps:

  • Put Marshmallow creme into a large bowl.
  • Combine sugar, water and salt in a boiler.
  • Cook over medium heat until sugar mixture reaches soft ball stage, (whenever dropped into cold water).
  • Pour over marshmallow creme, stir with a spoon until mixture starts to thicken, add vanilla and nuts.
  • Continue to stir until mixture can be dropped with a spoon onto waxed paper.

1/2 cup water
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup chopped pecans

Steps:

  • Pour marshmallow cream into large bowl.
  • In a large saucepan cook sugar, salt and water to soft ball stage.
  • Pour hot mixture over marshmallow cream.
  • Stir until slightly stiff and peaks start to form.
  • Add vanilla and pecans.
  • Mix well.
  • Pour into a 8x8 greased pan or drop by spoonfuls onto wax paper.

My grandmother's recipe. It's super easy and comes out creamy and delicious!

Number Of Ingredients 5

2 cup(s) granulated sugar
1/2 cup(s) water
1 jar(s) marshmallow cream
1 teaspoon(s) vanilla
1/2 cup(s) chopped nuts (if desired)

Steps:

  • Boil sugar and water until 250 degrees or when it forms a hard ball when you drop a few drops in a cup cold water. (It helps to have a candy themometer).
  • Place marshmallow cream in large mixing bowl. When the sugar water is ready, pour in a slow, thin stream the hot syrup while the mixer is on slow speed. After all syrup is in the cream, add vanilla and if desired, nuts, and put mixer on medium and beat until the cream forms a stiff peak.
  • Drop by spoonful on waxed or parchment paper. When cool, place in tight container and enjoy! P.S. It will make better on a low humidity day.

4 cups sugar
1 cup light corn syrup
Dash salt
3 egg whites
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups chopped pecans

Steps:

  • Combine sugar, corn syrup, 3/4 cup water and salt in 2-quart glass casserole. Microwave on high for 19 minutes, stirring every 5 minutes or to 260°F on candy thermometer. Beat egg whites until very stiff. Pour hot syrup gradually over egg whites, beating at high speed for about 12 minutes or until thick and candy begins to lose gloss. Fold in vanilla pecans. Drop by spoonfuls onto waxed paper.
