CHERRY PINEAPPLE SMOOTHIE
I threw this smoothie together from things I had in the kitchen and the result is tart/tangy tasting beverage.

Steps:
- Put the apple juice in a blender and'liquidify' for 20-30 seconds.
- Add all the juice from the can of pineapples and 5 pineapple slices.
- 'mix'contents until the pineapples are no longer solid.
- Add 8 maraschino cherries and 1/2 cup of the maraschino juice'blend or mix' until the cherries are liquid-like.
- When this is done you should have a thick red liquid with some foam.
- If you wish to make this drink last longer just add water, but don't add more than 1 1/2 cups or it will lose it's tangy taste.

"THIS cobbler was always topped with fresh whipped cream that we skimmed from a milk pan kept cool in my uncle's pumphouse. We skimmed off that cream with a flat spoon and carried it to the kitchen to be whipped. Afterward, we could hardly wait for dessert to be served!"

- Combine apple pieces and unsweetened apple juice in heavy large saucepan. Bring to boil, stirring occasionally. Cover, reduce heat to low and simmer until apples are very tender, stirring occasionally, about 15 minutes. Remove from heat. Mix in cherry preserves. Using potato masher or fork, mash mixture to chunky puree. (Sauce can be prepared up to 2 days ahead. Cover and refrigerate.) Serve hot or cold.
