Chocolate Sauce (Thick) Vitamix Recipe - (4.3/5) image

Number Of Ingredients 5

1 slightly heaped cup of cocoa, (I used 1 and 1/2 cup for thick sauce)
1.5 cups sugar
Pinch of salt
1.25 to 1.5 cups water (I used 1 and 1/4 cup water for thicker sauce)
1-2 tsp vanilla

Steps:

  • Place everything in the Vitamix, water first, and mix for five minutes. It will get really, really hot, so be very careful. When mixed, pour into a reusable container and chill.

¾ cup white sugar
1 ½ tablespoons all-purpose flour
½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 ¼ cups milk
2 tablespoons butter
½ teaspoon vanilla extract, or more to taste
1 tiny pinch salt

Steps:

  • Place sugar, flour, and cocoa powder into a bowl. Whisk together to remove lumps.
  • Heat milk, butter, and vanilla extract in a saucepan over medium heat until butter melts.
  • Whisk dry ingredients into the milk mixture a little at a time. Increase heat to medium-high until mixture comes to a simmer. Cook, stirring constantly, for 6 minutes. After 6 minutes, turn off heat. Whisk in a pinch of salt.
  • Pour hot over ice cream or store in airtight containers in the refrigerator.
